I usually play through the games regardless. I honestly don't know if it's some kind of subliminal masochistic tendency in me; but I want to have the knowledge that I completed the game, saw the ending, seared it into my memory, and NEVER have to go through that again.

Well, except for the 'Back to the Future' game on the old NES. Dragon Warrior 2 came out around the same time so I kicked that one to the side when I got DW2 home and played through that one as Back to the Future gathered dust in a corner of my bookcase.

Empire: Total War. I barely got through the tutorial americas section before the crashing drove me away and I haven't gone back.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. I've always meant to go back to it, but then I remember that all I was doing was running (and swinging) around beating people up at the behest of Luke Cage and wondering when the hell the story was gonna start. Also the voice acting was atrocious.

I tried my best, but I could not make it through one single player playthrough of Dead or Alive 4. It just... ugh.

There have been a couple of games. I disliked 99 Nights quite a bit so I just stopped playing and brain bleached the experience (I only just remembered the experience when I saw the options on the poll). Other games include Culdecept Saga (great game, terrible story) and the Yoshi game with the crying Baby Mario (I just can't deal with that high-pitched NOISE!).

Torok or something, Two Worlds, Morrowind for Xbox, maybe because of the load times, or the fact that I got it after I got the sequel, I donno.

Also Gears of War, couldn't beat the last boss on the normal difficulty, couldn't bring it to myself to lower it.

The only game I stopped playing was Far Cry--usually, though, I look at a game and its reviews before playing it to know if I *will* like it enough to play through or not.

I usually try to finish games because i've spent money on them so I might as well play through them. Having said that though, I have never finished mirrors edge, because I found it frustrating and I wasn't too sold on the story to be honest. (Its lucky that I picked it up for £7)

Stalker, witcher, c&c tiberium wars, GRID, Burnout: Revenge, Burnout Paradise, Oblivion (did so many awesome side quests that found the actually story quests really lame), doom 3...
the list goes on. I cant believe u guys only name a couple of games and thats it. There arent that many games that are actually worth playing through. And sometimes I find myself playing a game just to beat it and I realize that Im not actually enjoying it anymore, and thats wrong, you might as well do work...

X3:Reunion

I was led to believe it was an intresting space game, but it turned out to be a crappy Economics Simulator in space

Empire Total War

I never finished any campaign because it was such a pile of rushed bullcrap

Sadly Gears of War, i heard it was good, read several reviews because i have a limited budget on games and only buy what i think ill like. Everyone said it was great and from what i was seeing it was.
I bought it used tried it and didn't get past chapter one, i just couldn't get into it, my sister did strangely and she never finishes games, but it just wasn't my thing don't know why.

i try and at least beat the games, i never get all the achievements, that would take wayyy to much time in some games, but the only games i just didn't like ( dont flame)

bioshock and ff8

bioshock has a good story and i appreciate the power up stuff and all that, but just didn't care for the gameplay and i dont like fps games unless its online really, so it just wasn't fun at all for me

ff8 had a horrible style compared to ff7, so when i played that i barely made it thru disc 1 until i couldn't take it anymore, god it was awful compared to the other ff games, i even prefered ff12 over it

like the topic about movies but for games.

for me it has only been halo wars. i just hated all the people i'm supposed to be attached. seinna or whatever the holograms name was was probably supposed to be funny, forge was probably supposed to come off as a bad ass motherf***** and colnol sanders or whatever his name was probably was supposed to be the strict guy but i hated every single one of them.
Wrong. Serina the AI was meant to be a bit of a *****, though she gets a few witty comments her character isn't supposed to be funny. John Forge is meant to be a hard nut, but not necessarily badass. It focuses more on how he cares more for the men and women under his command. And the KFC guy, Captain Cutter (though Colonel Sanders is funnier) was meant to be a decent leader who doesn't always follow the rules, and takes risks, though again is very caring for the people under his command. It's no wonder you didn't like the characters much if you can't see what each character is meant to be like. For the record, I loved Halo Wars.

Anyway, I can't say that's ever happened to me. When I play a game it's usually a good one, which is why I buy them and play them in the first place. So I'll usually finish them eventually. If I don't it's not because it's a bad game, just simply down to some other problem (for example, it might just be a damn tough game to beat...).
