I like it! There's actually a place kindof like that where I live. The Chatterbox Pub is a full service restaurant/bar, and at a bunch of tables and in front of a couple couches there are old-school Nintendo NES' and Sega Genesis. For a couple bucks you can rent a game and have a pint. The college crowd packs it when school is in session, and I head there in the summer. Good luck to you, I wish you nothing but the best!!

I'm actually loving this idea. I could carry my 360 hardrive with me on the go, and just plug it in whenever I want to complete a specific side quest or achievement. It'd also be an awesome place to grab some co-op play, would it not?

Yes I think this is a great idea!

Although even in my country of residence there already is one nearby.
So not the most original

**PS. I finally mastered italics**

Sounds like a fantastic idea. I'd certainly use one. I don't have a PS3 for instance, and I did miss out on a lot of the more retro consoles, so having a place to go and play them would be genius.

I see a future of people taking bad care of those controllers.
Broken and sticky controllers a plenty from dirty hands, angry throwing or just pushing the sticks way too fucking hard.
It's usually little kids who rip the padding off and stuff from using the controller too hard though.

So basically... Bring back arcades? I like the sound of it, but I can't imagine how it could make a profit.
It does sound like that doesn't it. But bringing in a cafe like area, maybe some sofas and tables spread around ect and you could bring new life to them.

The basic gist I seem to be getting is your cafe needs to have something people simply can't get at home. Retro games consoles are the way to go. Try and push the whole "retro experience" thing. That plus birthday party support ect and you've got a winning business opportunity.

Great Idea in Theory, but ive been to a cyber Cafe where people were playing counterstrike and wanted to Punch everyone of those kids in there stupid fucking mouths. The Dumb shit people yell outloud while playing video games can just be too much to bare. If restrictions were put on that I think this would be a great idea.

TBH i think you would have betetr chances if you had PC's as well as consoles.

In Denmark almost every net-cafe has gaming computers, and are used for gaming (never seen any1 enter one just to check their mail and surf the web) But i've never seen a console-cafë, so either you're original, or people has just thought of it, tried it and failed.

So get a few rows of gaming pc's and some couch sections with consoles.

Remember that consoles take up MUCH more space per player than pc's so you'd have to get a big place (Assuming every consoel gets at least a 3 man couch and a decent tv (full HD for ps3/xb360)

Also, when people go to net-cafés to play PC, it's usually cause they wanna play togeather, and don't really feel like/is able to drag all their PC's to one of them and have a LAN party.
But most gamers already have a console, or know someone who has, so they can just go to his place to play, unless they wanna play multiplayer online with each other.
Point is, only a few PC games has hot-seat multiplayer, but many console games already has split screen or something like that, so theres less "need" to go somewhere and pay for it if you wanna play togeather.

You could also hire some hot chick to work top-less at the place durring the late hours. That should draw costumers.

I wish you the best of luck if you decide to go through with it.

Sounds interesting. When do you think it will be open by, and where (more specifically) will it be located?

Also before you all get excited it's in NJ.
I'm in NY, so I'll probably stop by next time I'm down there (if it does turn out as it sounds).

As a question: How would you protect yourself from those nasty crumbs and drinks ruining the controllers? You could force a person to replace it but they could just walk out of the store without telling you and it will have to go out of your pocket...
