Why? Because you think they are evil?

By that logic any post about Hitler, Stalin, or anything else considered bad should also make you stop reading.

The post was edited because OP was getting shit for it, Microsucks was in the original, he changed it to Microsoft.

Frist of all, Wolfenstien 3D had a story line, dual Wielding is for people with weak weapons who cant aim, DOOM had atmosphere, being the music fits great, and even though there wasnt MUCH oxygen on Mars, and Reloading is for double barrel shotguns only.

I don't know if all of them are up any more. I've got the big 3 of course. Rubicon X, Eternal X, I think EVIL is still up. I'm trying to beat it now. I'm pretty sure The Gray Incident is still up. Tempus Irae and RED are probably still up too. Excalibur: Morgana's Revenge and its prequel Devil in a Blue Dress are a little different. EMR doesn't even require a copy of Aleph one, and I think I had to search hard to find DiaBD, which does. Also there's Portal of Sigma. It had apparently been in the works since 2006 or something. It's vaporware now, but the first chapter (a hefty 11 levels) is up for download and it's a lot of fun, but I think that one also required some searching around.

Yo, Marathon. I'm happy for you and I'mma let you finish, but Half-Life 2 had the best story of all FPS-time!

Awesome, you have what is called an opinion, unfortunatly your attempting to use it as if its fact. Stop it now before someone beats you to death with your own opinion.

I know you guys have heard of Halo (don't act like you don't), but there was a "Halo" before then. It was by Bungie, before they were bought out by Microsoft. It was called Marathon. It came out in 1994 and was a Mac only release. That game was amazing, it brought so many innovations we take for granted now to FPS's. These included reloading, friendly AI, a storyline, dual wielding, MOUSE CONTROL, and an engrossing atmosphere. I loved the game, and it put all of the other FPS's to shame (at least in the storyline portion). Now I really don't know how famous it is now, which is my question: Have you guys ever heard of marathon before this post, or not?http://www.gamerbytes.com/logo.jpg
Found out about it when I was watching Red vs Blue Halo Series!

LOL'd at alot of the jokes in it

No, because it gave an indication as to the quality of the rest of the post.

yes, heard of it, played it, it was okay, but there are a few other cult like marathon lovers out there who are just as vocal about their hate and love for everything outside of marathon so yes, i believe the point has been smashed into my face figuratively more than enough times.

Mac only
1994 release date
Not Quake

This doesn't interest me one bit. I have heard of it and played it. One of the worst experiences in my life :3

I've heard about it quite a lot.

I thought this was about the 'Halo' (genre-defining game or whatever) before Halo by the way.

The thing is, XBLA only got Marathon 2: Durandal. This is because the rest of the trilogy was only available for Mac at the time of it's original release. I highly recommend getting Aleph One and putting the entire trilogy on your PC. Also, it restores the frame rate back to 30 rather than 60, which I think is actually better because it allows you to take in more of the story and environment without it being just another hyperactive shooter. Also you'll get the whole story which is, to say the least, substantial even though you only get it through reading computer terminals. The third installment, Marathon: Infinity, is bizarrely non-linear and a real mind fuck.

Hey they're completely free so you're not out any money or nothing.
