Western Canada is fine, as always. Just a little cold outside, as always.
Hope everyone gets through this OK.
If by fine, you mean just had the third largest earthquake of the past century, sure (depending on how far west "western" is).

They've declared a state of emergency here in Boston and asked everyone non-essential to stay home tomorrow, but other than right on the coast it doesn't sound like it'll be too bad next to some previous ones. It'll be windy and rainy, but we'll be fine compared to New York.

If this is supposed to be a supposedly strong hurricane, color me unimpressed. I've had the fringes of category one hurricanes do more than the fringes of this hurricane could do.
This IS a category one hurricane.

I think what's making it such a big deal (aside from the fact that it's a hurricane and thus must be the most terrible storm in the history of ever) is that it's HUGE. It's one of the largest hurricanes on record for the Atlantic basin. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Atlantic_hurricane_records#Largest_in_diameter]

My parents just landed in Florida. -__-

I think the hurricane mostly misses Florida.

I live in New Jersey, we're expected to get hit by the worst of the storm.
Governor Christie has already declared a state of emergency. Maybe this'll be like Irene, but I'm not hopeful.

We don't get hurricanes where I live. They spend all their strength a few hundred miles away. Bit of rain, stiff breeze, that's all we get.

It's fun to watch everyone panic, running around like chickens with their heads cut off, as if they honestly don't remember that every "hurricane" does the same thing.

You can't buy a flashlight, or batteries, or bottled water in my area right now, the fools have already been shopping. A few days from now, when it's over and nothing has come of it, those same fools will be bragging how they knew it was going to be nothing major. Buncha hypocritical pussies.

I live in Louisiana. For once, the hurricane isn't going for me!

I'm gonna hate the water damage, but I'm beginning to love this meme.

I'm in New Jersey. I'm a mile away from the ocean, but I basically couldn't be at more risk unless I had a house on the beach. I'm glad I don't. We're getting hit with the worse wind here, like 70-100 mph. I hope my neighbor's halloween decorations don't end up crashing through my windows...

I live in Ireland! No hurricanes for me!
Now, I must go to a Halloween party!

Our weather always sucks though, how bad is this hurricane gonna be?
They're closing the New York subway tonight, has to be pretty bad to have New Yorkers do THAT >.>

OT: Living in North Carolina, not much besides some wind and a depressing sky

Grandparents live on the coast of Delaware though, don't know how bad it'll be there though
It just finished raining here, it's cold and it's nighttime...miserable looking day...
Eh, that's our typical day, it's shit even now, i don't even recall we had a summer this year!. I remember being caught in a hurricane in HongKong, i had to cling to my dads neck because the winds were so strong they'd pull me back, i was about 5. I hope everything will be alright for the Americans.

I guess that's how our weather works, we get constant shit weather and in return we don't get these crazy hurricanes. Good trade i think since i'm too lazy to do any of this survival stuff.

I live in New Jersey. This storm is currently predicted to roll right over us. We all ready had a small tree come down. Time to get my game playing in now before we lose power. It's predicted to stay out for 7-10 days.

Well my school decided to close for the day which I'm enjoying but right now there is a little wind and some light rain. I live in central Virginia and from what I've seen on the news I should be seeing 55 mph winds right now... nope. The hurricane may have swung farther north than we where expecting or it's gonna hit hard in an hour or two, we'll see.

Any case I hope the power doesn't go out i've got too much food in the freezer, it would suck if i had to throw it all out.

Flood warning till 8 PM tomorrow. Not worried since I live on one of the highest points around. Until then I intend to shuffle up the cards and let the liquor flow.

Do you think it will reach Nizhny?

I'm not sure exactly how bad these kind of storms are, what kind of damage are you expecting in USA?

Damn, doesn't sound good at all.
Natural disasters really suck- you can't really take out your anger on anyone for them happening because they're never anyone's fault.
Hope it doesn't cause too much damage to those in its path...

I live in Northern New jersey, just outside NYC, and everything is shut down. Fortunately I live on a hill and own a pair of waterproof boots, so I think I'm set.

Just looking at the path Sandy is taking, moving out to the Atlantic and then curving in to hit us, this seems to be Mother nature giving us the finger.
