I know plenty good people who use lolcats and 1337 speak for lulz.

Poor grammar and spelling along with txt spk is just the product of a 12 year old with a keyboard.

I dislike 1337 (seriously people; even ironically it isn't clever), but I can tolerate txt and crappy grammar/spelling. Lolcats can even be funny, but generally it's so overused that it's just a great big pile of meh.

You know what? I just hate people. The internet has the burden of taking the brunt of that hatred because it represents all people everywhere. Can you feel my red-hot hate, internet? It cascades off me in waves, lapping at you until you are nothing but flame-licked deposits of bone and marrow.

While I am good at english (comparibly), reading poor or abbreviated english and then translating the meaning to my native language for understanding, all 'on the fly' as it were, get's really tiring after a small while.

Normal, plain, grammatically correct english is just so much easier and faster to read, because I won't be forced to translate the text first into english then translate it again to my native language.

Txt Spk. Good Lord, how I loathe txt spk. I doesn't help that my entire school runs around going 'lol' and 'omg'. However, I doubt that's not much in comparison that they've started going around yelling "EPIC PHAIL" at everything.

I'm most annoyed by poor grammar and spelling. It's ok if there are some mistakes in a post (there is probably one in this one too), but just looking at the screen tends to help you get your writing close to correct. Having to guess what some word is because of faulty spelling is not too fun, neither is making sense of a sentence like:

I prefer not to have to work to understand someone's post. It is hard enough to distinguish a mass of text without trying to work out where the capitals and full stops should be. I have also never been able to understand txt speak but I can deal with the occasional spelling or grammar mistake.

Text speak. I'm one of the few here who still likes lolcats, engrish is simply hilarious (hell, I take notes in engrish because it's quicker), 1337 speak has its charm, and poor grammar is just mistakes mostly, but text speak is just stupid and annoying. At least the others reflect amusing aspects of internet culture.

Poor (by poor I mean terrible) spelling and grammar gets to me in ways I can't describe. I think it's because I have no respect for lazy people. I'm from Norway and I'm perfectly fluent in English, both pronunciation and grammar. Naturally, an English person should be better at it than me, but in most cases they are not - which means they are so lazy they didn't bother learning their own language.

Also, I'm irked by arrogant French and German people who stubbornly refuse to learn English because their languages are 'just as good' - I have news for you, they're NOT!

And on the top of the heap of annoyances lie the typical American. The word 'Soccer' infuriates me to hell, and I'm prone to smacking people right over the face (or worse) if they ever used the wretched word in my immediate vicinity. It's called football. Period. And on we go with the 'u' cleansing of American English. Colour =/= color, flavour =/= flavor etcetera. And heavens! The removal of endings reveal a person as one I'm unlikely to deign to conversing with. Examples of that is chillin', readin', drinkin' - aaand by now I have a splitting headache.

Chinese people trying to speak English are usually just cute or funny. That is some of the best entertainment around.

Other than that, none of the others annoy me, except I wouldn't bother reading any 1337 speak.

Also, French and German are very well as good as English. French is the language of diplomats (since you can say any shit you want and it still sounds friendly, you know ) and German is the language of the poets and philosophers.
