Does anyone remember the old Legend of Zelda games? They were great. Discuss them in here.

so you make a discussion thread about the old zelda games, but in your poll you include the new zelda games. is this a discussion about the old zelda games or a discussion about which is the best?

I searched for it before i posted, didn't see anything. Anyway, its a discussion about them all, I was just stating how great the originals were.

I am confused, you have the N64 Zelda games for some reason but not Minish cap? Minish cap is almost as good an argument for Zelda to remain top down as the N64 ones.

I quite enjoyed legend of zelda and even enjoyed twilight (although the lack of replay value made me turn it in soon after finishing it),but personally my favorite is probably wind waker.

I like Ocarina of time [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.109811?page=4] and Majora's Mask [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.108500?page=4].

To me, the series ended with Zelda 64. That was the last one I liked. I consider the series to be completed right there. It also helps clear up the timeline because there's only one ambiguous game out of the entire first five.

I just put the first ones that came to my mind. I do prefer the top down isometric games though. Combat is more simple and dungeons seem a bit less daunting

The CDI games. Nah, I'm kidding. Did I scare ya?
Majora's Mask is my favorite. I like how overwhelming it was. Much more challenging than the others (which were very challenging).

If we are talking about being challenging, twilight princess was probably one of the easiest. Still loved it though.

And @Grimspice: Im sorry, ill look harder next time

OOT, I mean that was pretty much the game that got me into gaming. MM was pretty good though

The very first one on NES will always have a special place in my heart.
But it was eclipsed so utterly by the extraordinary A Link to the Past on SNES that the latter takes the cake. AND eats it! ;)
