Am I really the only person here who hasn't seen any?
This makes me sad :(

But from what I understand about the franchise, 1 was good, the others weren't.
From similar cases with novels (a medium that I am familiar with), adding another would be a bad thing.

Those rumors were shot down by Reeves' publicist.

But apart from that, I'd actually be fine with another Matrix film, just not in 3D,
I'm fine with movies being 3D so long as it isn't ONLY 3D. I always go and see movies in 2D now since my first 3D movie (Resident Evil) gave me a headache.

OT: I loved all 3 films and the Animatrix short storys so a 4th film gets a thumbs up from me.

First, I believe that the rumours of a 4th film are just that: Rumours.

Secondly - the second and third film, despite being mildly entertaining in a pop-corn munching, exploso-rama-fest, shut-your-brain-off-or-it'll-get-hurt manner, were a pale shadow of the first film. A Fourth Film would be very unlikely to salvage the series.

I don't trust the Wachowski brothers, ever since I saw Agent Smith hamming it the hell up with his ridiculous "IT'S NOT FAAAAAIIIIIRRRR!" line at the end of the third film.
To be fair, Smith was supposed to be more human by the end of the 3rd film wasn't he? He'd received human traits when Neo destroyed him in the first film and even before then he was a bit on the more psychotic than machine side (when interagrating Morpheus). Especially when he copies himself onto the Oracle, he stands up and laughs to himself. That's not very machiney. I think the dialogue in the crater of the 3rd film was supposed to show that Smith's human side wanted him to win, I thought it was brilliant when Neo asked him "What are you afraid of?", a question a machine with no personality or sense of fear shouldn't be able to answer.
