DOOM shotgun for me. I don't like the face that everything has to be a sawed-off, a normal longbarrel shotgun is way cooler in my book. Unless your wielding a bible in your other hand of course (ala CoJ).

Gears of War shotgun never lets me down. The B-Right Trigger combo works every time.

Also, since I'm good with small weapons in Fallout 3, the Fallout 3 combat shotgun works like a charm on super mutants. It is prone to breaking, though...

Also the BioShock one is pretty badass, especially with the explosive and electric rounds.

Also the one from Left 4 Dead. The autoshotty can tear down a horde in an instant. Like, you know that room on the second level of Blood Harvest where there's a door that when opened causes an alarm and brings the horde? Just stand in the doorway with the autoshotty and cause so much carnage you'd think you're watching Braindead. Plus you can bash as you're reloading.

street sweeper is the DAO-x, also in the list of automatic shotguns is the unsuccessful Pancor Jackhammer, and dont forget about the XM-28 from rainbow six vegas (2?)

..... kidding. I'm not that kind of Halo fan, (though I still loved the Shotgun and Mauler from Halo 3). I like to think I'm... the rational fanboy.

My real, less silly answer is the fully decked out Shotgun in Bioshock saved my life more times than any other weapon. With a fast rate of fire and extra damage it simply rocked and the way streams of smoke came out as you loaded it... man it made me feel tough.
You got oil pumps on the barrel and grinding gears at the top? Oh, you naughty girl.

Hell yes to the Gears and Left 4 Dead shotguns...

Fallout 3 has several good shotguns though... the Terrible Shotgun is a unique version of the Combat Shotgun with a base damage of 80 when fully repaired... it just OWNS. Also, there's a good shotgun in the Point Lookout expansion.
