I find it hard to hate on cosmetic DLC because it is just that: cosmetic. No one is making you buy it, nor does it affect the game in any real meaningful way. Its just there to make you look different, and if you are willing to spend money on that then more power to you. When it comes to multiplayer games, I actually prefer cosmetic DLC to any kind of "Pay to Win" approach.

The COD4 map pack was pretty bad. 4 maps for 800 points. Of the 4, 2 of them sucked, and 1 of the two good ones wasn't even in most of the game rotations.

Also, See the Future for Fable 2 was pretty underwhelming. Basically just a playable ad for Fable 3.

While we're on the good DLC train, Shivering Isles for Oblivion. Just thinking about it makes me want to go a-frolicking in the realm of the madgod. Anyone who has Oblivion and doesn't have this expansion, get it. It's worth every penny anyone's ever spent on it.

Oh yeah, and OT I don't mind cosmetic DLC. I don't buy it, but if you've got disposable cash it's a good way to support a dev. If not, it makes no impact on your enjoyment of the game. Even horse armour, which apparently people still buy.

Most ridiculous DLC I've ever seen? A sword which costs $500 in real money, on an Android game.

I think there should be a legal requirement that when someone has a game with DLC, the price of all the top-level unlocks needs to be added up and listed alongside the game title, as the total cost of the game.

If however, one item costs more than any reasonable person would spend on a PC game (let alone a bloody mobile 'phone game), you're not even leaving yourself room to be complicit about it.

I think that VS mode for resi 6 as the content was already on the disc and they were charging to unlock it, WITH OUT A CODE INCLUDED IN THE CASE, I mean a code in the case is to stop pre owned games, but this is just a robbery.

Horse Armour and Railworks DLC, it's near £1000 for all of it.
I'm guessing there's only one guy who has all of the Railworks DLC, and that's the guy that put it up on The Pirate bay.

Saints Row 3 has gotten sort of ridiculous with the amount of DLC there putting out. I would never think of buying most of that stuff. Sad thing is my friend has bought every piece of DLC release and plans on buying it all.
