The main problem isn't the instruments, its how they really didn't make any attempt to work them together. They just kind of fought against each other.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Hear what you mean... Anyway, the flute especially seemed out of place.

That said, I love discordant music, so there's no way for me not to love this song.

The whole "America hates bagpipes, tubas, and accordions" thing is lame. 95% of it is people who have been told that America hates bagpipes, tubas, and accordions and just repeats the sentiment without any consideration. Most people haven't ever even consciously listened to any of the three instruments aside from in movies with gags about how everyone hates bagpipes, tubas, and accordions.
