I'll have to say "meh."

It looks worth checking out, as long as people don't go see it because "OMG IT'S GERARD BUTLER!". I doubt it though. They'll be busy waiting for New Moon.

I might end up disliking it for two reasons:

1: It's beginning to look a lot... like... Death Race.

Is it a game? Yup. Is it for the chance of freedom? Yup. You lose, you die? Yup.

And 2: Any show or movie involving a game usually: A) Doesn't satisfy my game crave, or B) Completely screws it up.
But you have to admit... GERARD BUTLER!

I'm not excited for it and don't have high hopes for it, but I might see it for the hell of it. It's gonna be quite a letdown from District 9, though.

No, I'm not excited. It looks like videogames are just being used as a device to drive the story along for a rather bland action movie. I'll watch bland action movies, but they don't excite me and using video gaming as a story device somehow insults me.

Honestly, it looks like anti-gaming propaganda. Some bullshit about how gaming will go too far if unchecked.

What I want to Know is how do they expect someone not to die once in 30 online matches.
Well, the other guys won't be respawning, so it would be last man standing.

We just did this yesterday, if I'm not mistaken.

I'll go see it only because it has Michael C. Hall.

And in the adverts, he was being a badass.
Though I don't think he can be anything else.
Ditto, big fan of Dexter.

Also Gerard Butler is cool too.

But, the over all story, sorry Hollywood this has already been done to death. Yeah I can kind of see what you were aiming for, and for that you receive:

well their always is district 9.......the peepz here on the escapists say its 10/10 awsome.......dunno why....cloverfield was bad

Ok, Cloverfield was bad, because nothing good can come from the Blair Witch Project meets Godzilla.

District 9 on the other hand was cool.

Basically the reason why District 9 was good was because it wasn't trying to do what a lot of "horror" movies are doing now, which is trying to startle people into thinking they are scared so they don't need to have any sort of story or plot or general direction.

District 9 on the other hand actually has a plot, a story, some sub-text, and
a cliff hanger ending. Basically it is like they put a big "To Be Continued" sign up on the screen.

I am not trying to say that you are stupid for liking the films, I am just explaining the general reason for why there is a major dislike for those kind of movies.
