In all seriousness, I have nothing against the country - I'm actually of the opinion that Flanders would be best off integrating with the Netherlands. I do find the (Dutch) accent very grating, though, but you might experience the same with the Flemish. I don't know. Do you?

And here I thought my country was an insignificant little mudpuddle that trails behind the rest of the European countries is if it was the littlest brother asking for attention. But it seems were actually quite well regarded...and also rather numerous on this site.

I actually find Flemish to be a very nice accent. But I'd be hard-pressed to find it intimidating. There's just something about the Flemish accent that makes it hard for them to sound truly angry.

Girls with a Flemish accent are adorable though.

Too true. You could give the average Flemish person an uzi, sunglasses and a molotov cocktail and they'd still look meek and mostly harmless. I'd beg to differ on the accent, though. I find it sounds a little uncouth, but that might be due to overexposure on my part. British or Australian accents, yay!

EDIT: I should mention that in my original post, I was referring to the Dutch accent. It just... irks me. Can't say why!

I'm going to stop you there and say that in no way shape or form is the rivalry in football between Germany and England one sided. The Germans go out and dance on the street when they see Britain do badly in the Eurovision song contest, and go mental about football easily as much as the British do. Germans love their footy too.

Really? I mean about the Eurovision Song Contest... regardless, I just find that endearingly amusing.

Anyway, about the football, yeah, I guess the rivalry is there, but my point (poorly made, admittedly) is that the German rivalry with the Dutch is much stronger than with the English. I'm sure the green flags go up when they beat us (oddly, despite being English, in international football, I support the Germans) but they celebrate so much more when the Dutch lose (like what happened in WC2010).

I never really thought about it before, but it is pretty damn conceited of us to call ourselves Americans. Maybe it's because no one else really wants it (everyone else is Columbians, and Canadians, and Brazilians...).

I'm from the Netherlands, but i'm not exactly patriotic about it. Most of our people are right-wing voting idiots. But I do realize it could be far worse.
