So acorrding to IGN the next batman film will be set 8 years after the events of the dark knight, with a older version of bruce wayne, here is and stamenent that the director christofer nolan give to the empireonline:
"surprisingly for some people, our story picks up quite a bit later, eight years after The Dark Knight. So he's an older Bruce Wayne; he's not in a great state."

I hope robin isn't in this future film. Ever since THAT film the thought of a live action Robin gives me nightmares. Ice skates come on!

I don't know, it seems like a long time skip. They'll definitely have to fill in some details. If they can pull it off then that's good.

That seen a tad long, did it really take that long for another vigilante (Catwoman) to establish one self? Regardless I am fine with the time skip.

I see no problem with it. I wouldn't even mind if they stuck Robin in it, although Christopher Nolan has said he isn't ever going to. But Arkham City Robin is pretty badass. Maybe he could ring up Rocksteady and ask for a few tips.
Hell, he's in his 50s(?) in The Dark Knight Returns. I don't see 8 years making much difference.

While we're on the subject, where the hell where my Bat-skates in the Mr Freeze bits in the game!?

Guys, This is The Dark Knight Rises. There'll be no Mr. Freeze, No Robin, etc. You can google it and find out exactly who's in it. It's already being made.

What he said this movie will include Bane and Catwoman and that has been known for several months now.

Well, without Heath Ledger, it makes more sense to put give Batman a new vibe, time setting, and set of problems because otherwise, it'll just be labeled "The Dark Knight minus the Joker". Good move I'd say.

Whatever happens I'm sure Nolan will make this work, but unfortunately there's no way it can be as good as TDK.

Bane deserves a good movie. Strong and intelligent, not just strong Hollywood.
)rStrangelove]Dark, gritty, realistic Batman with problems - could work.
Doesn't seem like a formula for success. I think we should opt for the Adam West route.

Hopefully means more villain cameos, cause Im not really interested in bane or catwoman.
Maybe strange/riddler are behind the scenes to take batman down.

and no Im not googoogaga for anne hatheway, her as catwoman is ridiculous. I was glad when the annoying love interest(Katie Holmes horrid replacement) of the last movie esploded and was hoping for one without.

It is too early to call it a good move or a bad move. I had thought they would have taken this route eventually, but not at the third movie. We will see which direction they take it. It could work depending on what they do with it.
