Last night I reinstalled Doom, and after spending a few minutes setting up the key configuration I quickly remembered why I love that game so much. The graphics may be primitive, but it's fast paced non-stop action with simple instinctive controls, huge non linear levels, tons of bad guys and little need to take cover every five seconds. For sheer fun Doom is still, in my opinion, unmatched by any other FPS.

So I'm curious to know - do you focus your time on only the latest new releases, or at least current generation titles, or do you find yourself revisiting old favourites or classics that you missed the first time around? What's the oldest game you still play?

i'm currently rebeating mega man. that's pretty old right? that then inspired me to retackle the flash version of meatboy, n+, and vvvvvv. so, i'm basically on an old-school binge.

Megaman X3...What really surprised me though was that it could still run on Windows 7.

And i can still remeber every secret.

I picked up Castlevania on NES last week off eBay. Immense fun but friggin hard. But the oldest game that I play on a regular basis would be Megaman II.

I prefer older games from previous generations but if there is a new game that looks awesome I usually wait a few months till it comes down in price just so I don't have to pay $90 - $110 on a game (I live in Australia >:|).

I am currently playing the Casino zone of Sonic 3 but it is the XBLA version not the original game for the genesis as well as Crash Bandicoot 2 on the PS1 :D

I semi-regulary pull out Zelda: A link to the past and Hexen: Beyond Heretic.

Today I bought Baldurs Gate on GoG, so I'll be enjoying that later I hope :>

I just popped the very first Legend of Zelda into my DSLite and played through it again. But the oldest game in my regular rotation right now is 2003's Rise of Nations, which I play as a quick time killer.

I still play my original NES Zelda cart on my younger brother's toploader from time to time. Kinda ironic that it can hold my attention better than most new games...

Fallout. Not that old, but it`s the oldest one I still actively play. I occasionally play older ones, but that`s infrequent and it`s often in short intervals, so I wouldn`t really say that I still play any of them, per se.

Well I've been on a bit of a Blue Bomber Binge, Odd considering about the only one of the games I can stand is 2.

Also I've been wanting to try my hand at Privateer, but alas, I cannot find the game online anywhere, curse people abandoning old Origin games... Nor can I figure out DOSBOX to run it :p

Thief Series and System Shock 2, as well as RPG classics like Planescape Torment.

... and of course Deus Ex. And if I could get my hands on copies of them then the good old Jedi Knight series featuring Kyle Katarn and Mara Jade in the expansion I loved so much.

It's not really that old, but probably Dragon Valor.

I have some older ones, but I hardly ever play them.

Notable mention goes to Majora's Mask, which came out soon after.

Well, with the current state of most new releases, I've mostly been playing the same games that still remain fun after finishing them, the majority of which are for the PC or PSX. The N64 Legend of Zelda games were great too, but for some reason OoT just doesn't interest me now that I've finished it while MM has succeeded in it.

Umm, Secret of Mana on SNES probably. Off the top of my head I think it was made in 1991-1992
It is still in my Top 10 of all time. Although I will admit over the years it has been knocked down a few notches from 1 down to about 5 or 6 I reckon. Uncharted 2 FTW, I predict Infamous 2 will knock Uncharted 2 from its perch at the top though, specially seeing as Infamous 1 is prolly number 3 or 4 on my list.
