I agree with what you said about how he lowers his voice when he puts on the cowl and to show that he is a different person as Batman but nothing will make me and my friends laugh when we do the voice and say "I'M NOT WEARING HOCKEY PANTS!"

I can appreciate why he changes his voice. And Conroy's voice in the animated series was pretty good.

But this Nolan tomfoolery is just...excruciating. Kind of like Rorschach in the Watchmen film [though that thing was an unmitigated disaster on all fronts..].

Can't stand his gravelly voice, that's all.
And Christian Bale in general is currently probably the most
over-rated actor in all of Holly-Wood.
After Johnny Depp maybe.
And they both combined to star in the massively over-rated
slop that was Public enemies.
And I'm gonna piss a lot of people off with those last remarks.

Changing his voice, yes, that makes sense, but it doesn't mean he has to sound like he has laryngitis. I just can't take him seriously that way. I want to laugh every time he opens his mouth as Batman. But Christian Bale makes a very good Bruce Wayne. Kevin Conroy's my favourite Batman, but I still really love the intensity of the mood and atmosphere of the Christopher Nolan movies.
