Haven't seen The World's End. I always thought Hot Fuzz was funnier than Shaun of the Dead, even though I love zombie movies.

Definitely Hot Fuzz. I love absolutely everything about this movie. Not only is it my favorite of the three, but probably also my favorite comedy movie just in general.

My #2 choice would probably be The World's End. Which is odd, because I left the theater initially disappointed with it. When it came out on Blu-Ray and I got the chance to watch it again my opinion of it changed rather drastically. It definitely needed some time to grow on me. The reason why I wouldn't make it my #1 is because honestly... I thought the entrance of the smashy-smashy-eggmen kinda made the movie go downhill a bit. I was laughing my ass off at pretty much every single character-building scene prior to that and would have loved the movie to continue that way without the SciFi elements. I also wasn't really crazy about the ending, but it didn't ruin the movie for me or anything like that.

Shaun of the Dead I have mixed feelings on. I know that a ton of people out there think it's the best of the three by far, but I just don't really see it. It's fun, don't get me wrong. I still love the movie (which is impressive on its own, because I generally don't like comedies)... it just doesn't do much for me compared to the others. I think partially because of the oversaturation of zombie media. I know, I know... don't say the 'zed word.'

Shaun of the Dead by a mile.

Out all the three it felt the most, how should I say... natural. The others felt much more forced, both in their humor and in their reason for existing. In Shaun all the jokes, puns, and running gags flowed very naturally based on the current situation, as opposed to Fuzz where most of the humor feels crowbarred in. With very obvious 'set up, pay off' jokes. It was just trying way too hard.

Shaun of the Dead was also the more spontaneous of the trio, where as the others were clearly made as follow-ups. And it shows.

The World's End was okay, but ultimately reminded me too much of The Hot Tub Time Machine, having nearly the exact same character concept. The fight scenes were terrific though.

Shaun of the Dead is my fourth favourite film of all time (yeah, I like to list things, don't act like you've never made a top ten list :p ) so it's also my favourite of the trilogy. Hot Fuzz is great too, and The World's End was fun but not up to the standard of the other two in my opinion.

Probably Shaun of the Dead. It's just more naturally funny and quotable, but with good unexpected drama too. I.E
When Shaun is forced to put down his zombified Mum. I tear up every time, Simon Pegg should not be that good at crying.

Hot Fuzz a close second.

World's End would be a distant last, it was funny but nowhere near as consistently laugh-out-loud funny as the other two. Still a good film but I felt like it focused more on the characters, as opposed to the other two which hit you with a joke every couple of seconds. Though I do think the characters and story were the most interesting out of the trilogy, but it seems like it sacrifices the comedy aspect to focus more on this. There's a really long stretch at the start before the robots turn up that always feels really slow compared to the rest of the film.

Simon Pegg is really at his best when he's emotionally distraught. When he's super pissed, extremely scared, or grief stricken he's just a joy to watch.

I believe the technical name is "The Cornetto Trilogy"

I think Shaun of The Dead is my favourite, followed by Hot Fuzz then World's End last. When Shaun of The Dead is so good everything else that comes after is going to pale in comparison.

I love all three, but if I had to rank em Hot Fuzz followed very very as in photo finish Shaun of the Dead (Main reason why Hot Fuzz wins is just simply because I've got family who are police officers) and then finally Worlds End.

Definitely hotfuzz, great cast (timothy dalton, bill bailey, jim broadbent, bill nighy and steve coogan. I IMDBd to make sure I was correct and just found out the guy in the santa suit is actually peter jackson), great tarantino(esque) gore, a great soundtrack, great action scenes and some fantastic one liners and slapstick gags

I really liked worlds end because the name of each pub is related to what is going to happen in that pub which I thought was really cool

Hot Fuzz. The number of incredibly tiny details and callbacks is astounding, and I keep catching more, whenever I think I've caught them all already.

* At the beginning of the church fete scene, the announcer says something along the lines of, "Someone's getting a surprise at 3 O'Clock!", referring to somebody winning the draw. Of course, Tim Messenger gets his head exploded at 3 O'Clock exactly, so that's the real 'surprise'.
* When Skinner (evil Timothy Dalton) impales his jaw on the model church roof, he moans that he needs ice cream, and Nicholas replies that there's "plenty of ice cream at the station"-- referring to when the police chief punished Danny for his drunkenness near the beginning by making him buy loads of ice cream. "We won't be short of chunky monkey for the next month!"
* The line early on is famous enough: when the Andies tell Nicholas that "everyone and their mums are packin' round here", Nicholas asks who, and they say "farmers"; and when he asks who else, they reply, "...farmers' mums". When Nicholas returns to begin his murder/justice spree, the first ones who stand in his way are a farmer and his mum, who carries a shotgun.

So, Hot Fuzz first, then Shaun, then World's End.

AKA The Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, or The Blood and Ice Cream trilogy :)

OT: Shaun of the Dead gets my vote. All three are awesome, but Shaun is a better movie overall imo

THE GREATER GOOD!!!

ok, hot fuzz is mine. then shaun, and then worlds end.

hot fuzz is just, too good. very rarely are there 'misses' in the writing, it has a superb cast, and it is a genuinely good movie by itself. not to mention the gore is such a damn surprise, that church spire scene is unforgettable. it doesn't try to shoehorn in a romance story when it doesn't apply to the characters, it focuses on a much more basic principle: friendship.

plus i personally think it has the best one-liners in the trilogy, especially with the Andies' contribution. it just ticks all the boxes for me, and is one of my favourite movies in general.

shaun is also really really good, and while i wouldn't say it misses the mark, it doesn't quite hit a bullseye every time. again, it was very well done and an excellent start to the trilogy, but i find action/mystery and comedy merges slightly better than horror and comedy. i guess my criticism then stems from the merging of genres as opposed to anything the films actually do differently, but i'd be hard pressed to think of many more criticisms.

worlds end i haven't seen enough to pass proper judgement. but when i watched it i didn't feel it had a strong enough conclusion. it was a lot of build up that just got a bit confusing. i'll watch it a few more times, but i think this one had a lot of the comedy aspects quite separate from the other genres of the film, whereas hot fuzz and shaun of the dead seemed to merge it all into one.

but favourites aside, the cornetto trilogy is brilliant, and is a wonderful example of where comedy can be worked into films which would stand up on their own in their respective genres. edgar wright and simon pegg really understand a lot of the signifiers - both obvious and subtle - that go into these films, and implement them really well.

Shaun of the Dead is funnier, but the World's End is a better movie, with deeper drama and meaning behind it. I guess I'll go with the one that made me laugh more, but I at least wanted to give props to a seriously underrated movie.

Hot Fuzz is the best.

I hated Shaun of the Dead because zombie movies are shit. Not even Simon Pegg can make zombies good to me. And I haven't seen World's End yet.

Tough call between Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, but Hot Fuzz edged it for me.
World's End was disappointing really. It was an OK movie but it just didn't have the same feel as the other two. I certainly didn't feel like they were part of a trilogy. Paul almost felt more fitting for the final film in the trilogy than World's End.

I go back and forth on this, but I actually like The World's End more than Shaun of the Dead, but SOTD is the movie I go back to when I feel bummed out.

That being said, World's End is the better one of them all. It hit me on an emotional level in that I have been out of school for years, and I feel like the town I lived in was no different than the town the guys went back to.

It's an amazing movie more people need to watch, I loved it.

Hot Fuzz is my least favorite, purely of the fact the movie doesn't have the spark. I don't know what it is, but the story is not as sharp, despite Pegg, Frost and Wright probably being sharper satirically than the other two movies, but it's overly long and not as memorable to be, but that being said, it's still quotable.
