Don't forgot Martin Freeman, Stephen Merchant, Cate Blanchett and Paddy Considine (one of the main group in World's End)shootthebandit said:Definitely hotfuzz, great cast (timothy dalton, bill bailey, jim broadbent, bill nighy and steve coogan.
I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone willing to argue about Shaun of the Dead being a great Zombie movie, because it's a fucking classic.Pluvia said:I'd definitely say Shaun of the Dead. Not that the other two are bad, just I much prefer that one. I'd even go as far to say that it's the best zombie movie there is. (Come at me bro).
Anyway I like it mainly because everyone in it is an idiot, yet the zombies aren't comedic and remain a constant, real, threat.
But, unlike most other comedies, it subverts the trope that "things are going to be alright". They're idiots, and they're horribly punished for being idiots.
Ehh, don't think it's too fair to dock points for that, sure if you didn't like it fine, but going out and getting rat arsed is a pretty universal experience. Not that there's anything wrong with not wanting to do that, but most people have, which makes it an everyman experience.ThreeName said:Hot Fuzz is an incredible film. I never tire of it.
World's End, on the other hand, was dreary nonsense. It's one of those "if you haven't had this experience, you won't like it" films, and I found it intolerable. Frankly, Paul was better.
I can't comment on The World's End as I haven't seen it yet, but my favourite out of the first two is... wow, this is a really hard choice. Can I cop out and say neither, as I like them both equally for different reasons?Platituder said:Which of the three is your favorite?
You live near Wells, you have my sympathy. Did you know that many of stories and characters in Hot Fuzz wers actually based on people living in Wells from the 60s to the early 80s.Tom_green_day said:Hot Fuzz was the one that got me into both Simon Pegg/Nick Frost and buddy-cop films in general.
Not to mention that it was filmed and set really close to where I live.
By 'really close' I mean like an hour drive... So not that close... But a lot further than somewhere like America. Was there last weekend in fact...albino boo said:You live near Wells, you have my sympathy. Army Of Darkness and Zombieland are both waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.elvor0 said:I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone willing to argue about Shaun of the Dead being a great Zombie movie, because it's a fucking classic.Maybe not /the/ best, but I can't think of anything better than it off the top of my head.
