Sims 3 does make quantum leaps in gameplay, but if EA insists on packing it with super-powered DRM I'd just as soon pirate it. Besides, Empire: Total War comes out within a couple of weeks of Sims 3, and I've really only got the budget to buy one.

No you're not. I want to play the Sims 3. What other game can you lock a bunch of people in homes with flammable objects and force them to light fireplaces constantly resulting in mass burning.

The Sim's is cool. I used to play it but stopped when I found myself enjoying shooters a lot more. A lot of people from around here like playing Viva Pinata and that'd definitely be higher on the pussy o'meter, if there ever was one.

To me, it just seems like The Sims 2:Rebuy our Expansions.
I dunno, I would argue Sims 2 was just The Sims: Rebuy our Expansions, but I do think they have made quite a few changes this time around.

well i've got to say that building a huge home, with multiple floors, letting them go upstairs and then removing all the stairs, toilets, and beds, than adding a hell of a lot of flamable objects and watching them make a swimmingpool of wee and after that die horribly in a fire accident is so much fun.

PS. try adding a phone, they'll call for help but hey the firemen can't get upstairs XD

I only briefly played The Sims (original), and the only thing I really liked about it was that it's a game that you can set up and let it run all day while you're out doing stuff, then come home and see if your little people have burned their house down yet.

Other than that I just filled the house with lamps and a chessboard and called it good.

It's a game. If you think it's going to be fun, then who cares what anyone thinks? Being god and getting to run the lives of many lesser beings can be fun for a while.

No your not a pussy, when you think about it's it's less of a dollhouse and more of a reality simulator (Though a quirky reality.) And simulators are cool.

Are you a guy? Then yes.
You have the WoW quiz badge, so presumably you at least played WoW at some point. Which is nothing more then playing around in a very cartoony world, dressing up your guy in various clothing, and beating up on cartoon monsters.... not to mention the amount of children you're playing around with. I'm not seeing how that's any more 'manly' then The Sims. If you really want to live the stereotype, you have to stick with games like God of War or some such thing, right?

Truth be told, that's just a lame response. 'If you're a guy...' As if everybody has to be exactly the same to prove their testosterone level. I always liked putting together the architecture of various houses, which works well because my girlfriend happens to dislike that portion of the game. So we make a good team.

So, to answer, no you're not a pussy for wanting to play the Sims. You're a pussy for worrying about other people thinking you're a pussy!

*thumbs up*
I'd have to agree. But I've played the Sims and the Sims 2, and I've never even seen much that goes against the whole "manly" thing. I suppose it's just that it takes away from our time working out and wrestling with bears.

In case you are a pussy... that makes us two :p

I was a hardcore Sims 1 player. Yeah you heard me, I had all the expansions and explored the to death. I probably spent more time with Sims than most other games. I really didn't get into Sims 2 in the same way though. Probably because I was mad over loosing all my expansions ^^

Bottom line, Sims can be fun, there is no reason why it couldn't. And I is there anything more satisfying than creating an exact copy of yourself, work from the bottom and end up as an astronaut, the most popular man in town ,resident of the palace atop of the hill and married to the hottest girl around?

Also it has both sex and violence! :p

I never got into those games very much. I tried them out, but it just wasn't that interesting. To each his own, I suppose.

Anyone with the mentality that playing Sims = 'Pussy' should be smacked. Those people are likely the uncreative type, as Sims seems to cater more towards the creative minded. Imagination is not a bad thing.

I say no. There is no other game out there that allows you to create the home of your dreams.
Hey, what's with the necroing? The Sims 3 is already out, so I see no point in posting this.
Well, the poll is useless now, but the thread title can still be answered.

To answer it...no. There are far, far worse games in that regard.
