I play a lot of Tetris, and I've noticed that the point at which I begin to lose most of my games is the point at which I get four or five square pieces in a row. I feel it's infinitely worse than even the squiggly pieces (and they're pretty average to begin with.) Needless to say, however, my friends all love the square piece, and think it's one of the best in the game. In light of this disagreement I ask you, the Escapist - is the square piece good?

As with every other piece, it is circumstantial. It depends entirely on what sort of patterns your are inclined to follow.

I like the square piece, the Line piece is certainly the best. Whenever I get 4 or 5 squares in a row, I just stack them all off to one side so that it's two columns I don't have to worry about for awhile

meh i would say sometimes it could be helpful but it usually just mucks everything up. ya so sometimes it comes along and fixes things but usually it is just awkward but not much difficulty

I like it.
Its good for filling in large gaps and holes.

Though it can become a bad piece depending on the situation, just like all the others.

I find it as useful/un-useful as any other tetris block mainly cos any piece that falls down randomly from the tetris either can either complete a row or make things three-times as difficult.
So the square's are ok. Personally I like the 'Z' shaped ones but that's just 'cos I like the shape, no other reason.

It's honestly the straight pieces that screw me over in tetris. I'll get every other piece about 2 or 3 times before one measely straight piece comes to me.

It is...circumstantial. However, it won't cause you to lose like an infinite string of S and Z pieces will.

However, the line piece is clearly broken, and makes the game much too easy. *has played Tetris way too much...to the point where no one will play it with him on the DS anymore*

I hate the square piece. It is, in my opinion, the worst piece.

The straight piece on the other hand...
I actually prefer the T
The T is my second favorite piece, but I don't like it quite as much as the straight piece.

i have yet to have it as a bad piece

there is no twisting involve so it goes in a very simple place and usually you can just stack em on top of each other so its a great piece to have for time to think

I like the square pieces. Nice and easy to fit into places. Insert sex joke here.

Eh. I think the best piece is the line piece.
Speaking of line piece:

It goes line > Square > L > T > ..Thing, For me anyway, I find they sit in places quite easy and you dont really have to plan with them much.

...LINEEEE PIECEEE!
