So, if you have seen Top Gear you will know who i am on about if you havnt then well you have oficialy failed at life. Anyway this is a question i have heard alot so i want to know what you think. I personly think that hes a machine simply because of how aggressave he drives and has never once crashed or spun off. Surly an impossable task for any man or is it? so what about you?
EDIT: ok he crashed once but out of how long thats still good.

He has to be a man seeing that it is impossible to be anything else although he could be an alien. He probably however is just a ex-formula 1 driver

Actually, he smashed through the tyre wall, once. It was such an event that the company that made the car took it back, and added a spoiler.

The first Stig (Black Stig, or Dead Stig) was a man called Perry McCarthy, an ex F1 test driver for Arrows, Williams and Benetton. But they killed him for revealing his identity.

As for White Stig... cyborg...

but what about Big Stig and African Stig? Different model numbers perhaps? Is there a Stiggy production line in a shed omewhere in Hackney? who knows...

Man, if he was a machine he'd probably listen to Daft Punk instead.

Oh he's a man. But an experiment in making the perfect driver using Mansell and Hill's DNA. Either that or a Terminator.

Definitely some kind of human experiment to create the ultimate driving machine. So both!

The Stig is, in fact, merely a holographic projection to mask an extremely advanced computer driving system which is fitted by Top Gear's ninja mechanics to the cars they test.

He was probably in a horrible accident and the helmet was melted onto his face. Either that or he is just incredibly ugly.

The stig is neither man nor machine. he is from the future where cars are outlawed due to outrageous petrol prices. He was banished to the past for stealing cars and wasting the precious resource with a mission to slow our use of petrol in order for there to be some in the future. obviously he has disregarded this misson

I wonder if there is a list of 'stig facts'. You know, the stuff they always tell on the show 'some say that...(insert stig fact)'.

I think his role is hilarious. Especially on the episode where he had to go by public transportation...with his suit and helm.
