From what I've gathered in the past few weeks of watching the Forum threads on the side, people have greatly varying opinions which type of game story telling is better then the next. However, there are other mediums of gaming story telling that do not get as much attention, the Table Top RPG being one of them. These games, typically played with pencils and paper, are a the most traditional way of telling stories with game play.
I started playing first edition Dungeons and Dragons back in the day with my family and progressed through the editions. I still play the game on a weekly basis with a group of friends, face to face, for a few hours of fun. Last spring, I started playing The Call of Cthulhu after reading a few HP Lovecraft stories. Since then, I have read a majority of his work and played through a multitude of different scenarios.
The gaming systems aside, the external narratives of these games are the most fond memories I have of my family and friends.
