Given God exists (which he may or may not to - Atheists, suck it up and go with it for the purpose of this), and his voice is projected by the Metatron (Not a Transformer) so that us mere mortals can hear it...

When you hear the Voice of God, who does it sound closest to?

Hmmm...what about your own? I like the idea of deities appearing as yourself, as you always felt you should be, but didn't live up to.

But God doesn't exist!!1!

OK, after my atheistic disclaimer, it is quite obvious that God would sound just like Barry White, if male, or Dolly Parton, if female.

Or Boy George if he/she was confused.

Similar to Harlan Ellison's voice from "The Human Operators" episode of "The Outer Limits" tv show.
"Eeeeeeeeeeentah".

Not Morgan Freeman, but Gordon Freeman! Get it? Because I'm an atheist! Ok, sorry.

No, I kid, I vote for Steve Buscemi. Don't ask me why, just first thing that popped into my head. And I know he doesn't sound deep, wise, british or any of that. And maybe that's the point.

You mean, given that Dogma is already more correct than most religious beliefs?

Well, then I'd HAVE to go with Alan Rickman, because we're already nicking enough from Kevin Smith.

Oh man, can I have Morgan Freeman as God and Alan Rickman as the Metatron?
I think I'd have to go with Alan Rickman though ... I love Dogma!

Alan Rickman. Mostly because I believe god would sound just as bored.

Actually scratch that. Liam Neeson. Yeah.

For arguments sake, I'd have to say I imagine he sounds like Christopher Lee.
You stole my man.
Surely the magical voice of Saruman and Dracula is the one?

If not, then it would be Morgan Freeman, it depends on whether you want a powerful sounding God or more of a kindly one.

I'd also suggest Valentine Dyall, who played "The Black Guardian" in the old Doctor Who.

If God sounded like good old BRIAN BLESSED that'd be f*cking awesome. But I think

is a compelling argument. God needs either a big booming voice, or a strong regional dialect.

In fact, I want to change my vote from BRIAN BLESSED.

To the late,

the great,

Fred Dibnah.

One thing I was wondering when setting up the poll...Who would be the female voice of God as well? I was really struggling to come up with anyone.
