The Walking Dead: The TV series? What do you guys think? Personally I'm loving it, even if it's not following the comics exacally, I still think it's pretty neat.

I didn't even realise it was based off comics.... I just enjoy it as a tv show, and it is one of my favourites at the moment.

Ballistic nitpicks aside, I like the series. I found the characters believable, and that's one of the main things I look for.

And by ballistic nitpicks, I mean telling someone with a Glock to turn the safety off, or how an M2 in the street still has ammo. Given that .50 BMG rounds can tear a person to pieces, especially at that range, I think I'd figure out a way to turn it to face any zombies that came at me.

I don't like it - I got over zombies being cool about the time 28 weeks later came out, that teat has been milked dry.

When I sat down to watch Season 2 episode, I realized I had forgotten every single character except for the main character, the cop.

THe things they do in that show make no sense.

Just recently a little girl wen missing so while there all out there looking for her the people left on the road sit around for what seems like days, with all the food they collected just sitting there in the street...as if in a zombie apocalypse your not gonna have to get up and go at a moments notice.

So for days valuable supplies just piles up in the streets.

I never read the comic book..fine, graphic novel...it was based off of, but I suspect that it's pretty accurate being that everything most people say is incredibly cheesy and seems like it would work better in a talk bubble and less coming out of a person's mouth.

I liked it at first but the longer it goes on, the less I like it. The massively over the top acting of a select few actors really kill it for me.

Too much drama for me, it was good I'll admit, but not my cup of tea. I hated the characters, none of them were likeable, the setting was alright and the action was alright. It had potentional, due it was really good for the first 2 episodes, then it got boring for me.

What's a "TV series" ?

(reads)

Nevermind, if the characters are weapon- and supplies-stupid then they've already failed rules 1-5 in the Zombie Apocalypse manual.

So I hate it. Whatever it is.

Loved season 1 but they are stretching the storylines a tad in season 2. And I am starting to dislike the majority of the characters.

I don't even care if they find Sophia dead or alive the whole reason she got lost was stupid to begin with.

28 weeks later had no zombies but rather just "infected" people. Although close, Im just sad that a zombie-like movie turned you off to the genre. The walking dead is a decent show so far and I do agree with you that they are doing some stupid and pointless things in the show but its only cause they are milking the show pretty dry for length.

I think it's one of the three best television series currently running (Bored to Death and Eastbound & Down being the other two). Personally, I like the characters and how they interact with one another, thy're certainly a diverse bunch albeit they are slightly cliché. The first season was a lot more action and zombie-heavy but the second season is focusing more on character drama and storytelling which I think deserves to be commended.

Started reading the comics, but once the whole prison/governor stuff started happening I stopped reading it, also due to every single conversation with my cousins leading to the subject of a zombie apocalypse, I am really really fucking tired of any type of zombie, so I never even bothered watching the show

I read the comics first, so it's kind of spoiled a few things for me, but this helps me get over it not being a direct translation, as some things are different.

All in all, I really like it, but if they don't get a move on soon, it could get real boring, real fast. They seem to be leaving too many plot threads just dangling in the wind for to long (Merl, anyone?), and that could hurt them in the long-run.

Regardless, I like the show and will watch it until they stop making them or it gets too focused on the ridiculous Rick/Rick's woman/Rick's friend love triangle. It's the friggin' ZOMBOCALYPSE people... not Days of Our Lives. Focus more on staying alive and less on imitating a bad reality show plot.

I saw all but the last episode of the first season and enjoyed it. I missed the last episode, forgot about the show and have subsequently missed all of the new season. I don't know when I'll eventually catch up because right now I have too many shows/games on my plate.

I like it, but the second season really needs to step it up a notch. The first season had a good balance between drama, action and suspense. Season 2 has been mostly drama only, which gets real tiresome after a while. Which is a big shame.

I still prefer the comics though.

Worst adaptation of a source material I've seen since the Eragon movie.
The Eragon Movie was just plain bad, as well as a bad adaption. But it wasn't the finest source material to begin with either.

I fail to see how The Walking Dead is a bad adaption, are you saying it's plain bad, or just a bad adaption of the source material, or that the adaption wasn't faithful? Because, hey, the Lord of the Rings Movies were bad adaptions. They were awesome Movies, but they weren't very faithful adaption.

That doesn't make them bad, simply because they're not faithful to the source material.

Note, if the movies had been 100% faithful the books, they would have sucked big time time

You read the comics so you know, do you get the feeling there rushing through the story by packing all this drama in now? Maybe its to set up a gory ending into a darker season 3?

I don't know where it goes since I only watch the show as it progresses but like you said this drama is too much and if it keeps pissing me off with scenes for no reason other then drama what's the point.
