Oh man, they were all good, I can't pick just one.

I suppose the last episode had the most emotional impact on me, but that's because it was built up so well in the previous episodes.

Third episode, most emotional moments happened in that one.

And its the part where the game ramps up from good to memorable, the rest have the burden of having to follow it up.

Second one was best.

Best tension, best set up, even if it was a mite predictable.

Also that ending man, and that climax, perfect.

I'm actually going to go with Chapter 2. Sure, it didn't have the emotional impact of chapters 3 & 5... but just something about it clicked with me. But then, I admit that I have a thing for campy horror movies, and Chapter 2 was definitely trying to mimic a campy horror movie. Plus, that last image of a beaten Andy St. John, on his knees screaming at Lee through the sounds of the storm, as his re-animated mother shambles over for the kill... I loved that.

I still wish I had the option at the beginning to NOMNOMNOM all of the food right in front of Lilly and Larry, though. Just, like... stare at them, never breaking eye contact, as Lee inhales all of their rations.

Very well said, and I agree completely. Two and five were also strong chapters, but three was the game changer. It's quite the roller coaster ride, and managed to outrage/compel me more than anything that wet rag of a television show has managed.

Fuck, I dunno. 5 had the most feels, but 2 was just... damn. 1 and 3 both really good at setting a theme, and even though 4 was probably the one I remember the least it was still fantastic.

I gotta go with #2. #5 definitely had the most emotional impact, but like a bunch of you already said, it's emotional because the previous 4 episodes had built up to that point. The second one could easily have been a stand alone game, and it was the chapter I was probably the most invested in. It was weird, creepy, had some good tough choices, it basically had everything I love in a survival horror game.

Any of the odd-numbered episodes. 2's great and all, but 1 gets you into the universe, 3 has the most shocks per moment, and 5... well, anyone who's played 5 will tell you why.

I can't decide; I think they are all equally important. Everything in the whole game comes together to make it what it is.

It's either two or five for me.

Two did the best for overall pacing. Moving from panicking in the intro, to slowly trying to deal with group conflict, from peacefully pushing your kid on a swing before fighting for your life. A range of things happened. Choices were hard, and things had impact. The twist could be a bit obvious going in, but the overall execution was good enough for me to look past it.

Five on the other hand, was the most hard hitting for me. With the emotional conclusiveness of relationships for the last survivors all coming to a head, it remains as one of my favorite conclusions to a video game.

Five is an amazing conclusion, but three stands out to me mostly because its the episode where the shit hits the fan

I'm gonna go with chapter 1. Guess I'm in the minority here, I just liked it a lot more. Any time I think of chapter 2 or 3 I think of all the stupid, illogical things that other people kept doing. The other chapters were all marred by my inability to perform well in QTEs. Chapter 5 could be my favorite, except that everyone you've worked so hard to keep with you dies or betrays you in the space of 45 minutes.

So yeah, Chapter 1. Best setup. And the radio gag is a pretty memorable joke, especially after it took ME 5 minutes to figure out how to flip the radio over. Then I make fun of HER for it.

I'll personally go with chapter 3. I loved the whole game, but breaking each chapter down chapter 3 was the best in my opinion.

Chapter 1 was your standard start of a zombie apocalypse . It was nothing remarkable, but it was still well made. Stumbling at the starting line can really kill a game.

Chapter 2 had good pacing and introduced how utterly monstrous some people can become during an apocalypse.

Chapter 3 however was a real gut punch. It set the tone for the rest of the game.

Chapter 4 was actually one of my second favorite chapter for one single reason:
The moment when you decide if you save Ben or if you drop him to his death.
It was the only choice which I feel really tested the player. Ben's a liability , so it would make the most sense to let him die, but it would also mean that you've let yourself become jaded and overtly pragmatic.

Chapter 5 was actually pretty weak in the way it handled some of the decisions. I feel ,however, that the final moments of the chapter were good enough to redeem any of it's more dodgy moments.

Chapter 5 for me. Dat ending man, dat ending.

Chapter 3 was a close second. It marked the point of shit getting real.

That third episode was a real adventure. I remember reaching the wreckage blocking the train and thinking "well, finally made it to the end of this chapter" and it just kept going. In hindsight I guess maybe it wasn't especially long, but man, all that stuff really did take a toll on you and gave you a bit of a taste of what their situation is actually like.

I can't pick just one though, the series as a whole is good because of the entire journey.

I wasn't sure whether to pick 3 or 5, but I think 3 takes it for me. 5 has the great ending, but it's a bit short and it benefits from all the work that the first four episodes did. In fact, it was pretty similar to ME3's best moments only really being that good because of the work and actions of ME1 and ME2.

But I still remember playing 3, feeling so many goddamn feelings in such short periods. I felt emotionally exhausted and when the screen had the fade to black effect I started thanking the game for it's mercy...and then it kept going. Also FUCK YOU LILY.
