I reject and oppose the use of the terminology "the war to end all wars" in a vs thread between two decidedly mediocre multiplayer shooters which are the exact same game as every other goddamn FPS clone that has ever been made.

I also reject and oppose the fact that there is no poll despite the word "Poll:" being in the title.

OT: There is no way that BC2 can "defeat" MW2. MW2 sold more units than any other Xbox 360 game in the first few days alone. BC2 is a spring release that will be lucky if its sales win it back all the money that it spent on ads (which is A LOT), especially when you consider that the previous two installments in the Battlefield series have been denounced as complete and utter feces by most of the series's fans. I personally cannot see the difference between 1942/2 and 2142/BC, but apparently the second two are worse. Go figure.

yeah, yeah. i tried to put in a poll but it didnt work for some strange reason. well with DICE doing the multiplayer for bad company, it has serious potential to take away from mw2s fanbase.

Jeez the game doesn't come out till April! Calm the fuck down
Release Date: Mar 2, 2010

And I absolutely can't wait. I've been loving every minute of the Bad Company 2 for both PS3 (I got into it since it was out way before the PC version), and then PC. Everything just feels right.
Isnt it March 10?
March 2 on US Steam. :D
YES! BFBC2 continues to please.

I'm not sure why exactly these games are being compared, they are not so much siblings as they are distant cousins.

OT: I'm getting tired of Nuke boosting in my FFA (my main mode in MW2) and how Activision isn't really doing much to fix the other problems. I like the game I really, really like the game but I'm at the end of my rope here, the few really good things about it are being overwhelmed by the mountain of problems. Exacerbating the situation is the fact that my main gaming pals have abandoned it.

Battlefield on the other hand I've had a better experience with. I LOVED the single-player of Bad Company one, even liking it better than COD4 (I know that's heresy to some but that's how I really feel) but I never really got into the multiplayer for one reason or another. I thoroughly enjoyed 1943 but discontinued playing due to repetition and the fact that every time I try to join a game recently, I can't find one. I really liked the BC2 Demo and the single player looks better than the first, so I have high hopes.

That being said, I also think other games are looking promising as well, I'm all but guaranteed to sign up for the new Ghost Recon game's Beta (HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! Did you see that trailer?!?) plus Conviction's multiplayer is looking awesome as well, so we'll see.

By the by I noticed your poll is severely lacking... well a poll. Are we going to remedy that somehow.

Unless the BBC2 demo is based on some very early beta, I can't imagine why anyone would be interested in the game. It's crap.
I could be pleasantly surprised by the final product, but I'll wait for comminity reviews... reviews that don't come from MW2 boycotters, since we can guarantee they'll all be positively glowing.
YOUR CRAP,
Did I just blow your mind?

It will take away some of MW2's fanbase, that's a given. But it will not be nearly as popular. No game could really accomplish that this soon after release, especially not BC2, which was pushed back to a spring release to avoid competing with MW2 during the 2009 fall release.
