Mmk, so about 10 minutes in, I wanted to burn the idiot who first thought of this game. Not only does it have a camera control designed for and by a drunk monkey, the amount of dialogue that adds nothing to the player's understanding of the game is absolutely shameless.

Yeah? Ok. Not really much discussion going down.

If I was you, I'd play more than 10 minutes of an RPG before making a judgement on it as well.

Your poll is completely unrelated to the topic. Second, WTF don't you get about camera controls? High and low isometric show a fixed angle as the name suggests, shoulder cam is controlled like every single other shoulder cam in existence, that's too hard for you?

I had a friend who only played The Witcher for a few minutes and he thought it sucked.

I later made him play through the village that Geralt goes to after the opening castle, and he said that the game was better than he originally thought.

So yeah, don't be too quick to judge a game.

Keep in mind that somewhere out there, someone loved this game.

Oh, and Bethesda FTW!

Somehow, just putting it out there, Mass Effect, NWN, Guild Wars, Pokemon, Deus Ex, Diablo, Diablo 2, Fallout 3, planescape and many, many other RPG's have made the opening areas and scenes much more immersive, interesting AND fun to play than The Witcher. All in 10 minutes.

And? You're still judging it on 10 minutes gameplay, actually play the thing before you post this little blog.

The thing about BioWare was apart from DA they games didn't feel very RPGy. I like Bethesda cos the made Fallout 3.

OT:Well the Witcher is as Yahtzee put it "a mumorpuger! A single-player mumorpuger, with no Alliance dipshits teabagging your corpse, but a mumorpuger nonetheless."
You should of done reaseach before the purchess; read some reviews and watch some gameplay.

Why does the poll have to be related? =D I'm just asking a question.

Yeah that was the problem with the Witcher, it's pretty terrible at the beginning and even though I really enjoyed it later, I can't really blame someone if they decided to give up at the beginning. Like Yahtzee says, it "gets better later" isn't really a good excuse.

I personally enjoyed the beginning.. And the first area's were marvelous.. And it toke my a few hours on the investigation area's wondering what to do next.. I just hope the next witcher is half as good.. But tbh mate.. If your main quarrel with a game is the camera controls.. and a few misspoken dialogue lines.. then, You don't play many RPGs

Did you really say Diablo 2 was interesting and immersive? Seriously?

Diablo 2 is only worth playing in Hell mode, anything else is sheer and utter boredom. Its also not an RPG.
Ah my mistake. It's clearly turn based strategy.

I've played every game that I referred to in an earlier post. Also, It's not the fact that the dialogue lines are occaisonally buggy, it's that a) they go on forever without actually saying anything, it's just waffle and b) the dialogue is one of the core elements of an RPG which is MEANT to get you interested.

I enjoyed my experience with the Witcher i found it to be a rather solid RPG but i must admit the game has its flaws. Pacing being one of them... the beginning is excruciating and i have not given the game a second run through partially because of this very fault.

I really do have high hopes for the second one though. Looking good, hopefully it can address many of the issues it has.

And OP its not that your opinion doesnt matter or that you should rag on a game you just needed develop your post into something well more developed. Haha...

I wont disagree that dialogue is a fluid part of a RPG.. But it's not the main part.. You still have only provided 2 point out of like a hundred.. on why the game is bad for you. Now I'm just asking is this a rage post. as basically the game does have it's stressful parts and makes you wanna quit and uninstall
