Sure, I'd highly recommend it. Best praise I can give the Wolf Among Us is that it was good enough to have gotten me to look up its source material and get into the Fables comics it's based on despite not having had any serious interest in comics in years.
Oh hey, are they any good?

I was kind of curious myself, but I thought it might be like Telltales Walking Dead where the game is better than the source material.
I read the Fables comics before I played the Wolf Among Us, it looks like I'm playing the comics. Telltale was an excellent decision on making a Fables game. I can point at it an go "Yep that's exactly how I imagined Bigby and Snow would be." You're not going to get as much detective drama though in the comics because, given the premise, they have a lot of ground to cover. Bigby is probably one of, if not the main character. He takes a good portion of the spotlight, so you won't feel like the Wolf Among Us is an entirely different beast. I think the comics also enhance the story, because they answer some questions people who have only played Wolf may have about the setting and characters.

Bigby also got kinda boring when the plot went along, and his relationship with Snow White went fucking nowhere.
The Wolf Among Us is cannon to the comic books, it acts as a prequel, and for what it's worth, there's a reason for why the relationship with Snow and Bigby went nowhere.

OT: It's fun, if you like The Walking Dead, this won't be breaking new ground, and if you're okay with that, I recommend it. Telltale definitely has a style and they do that style well.

It is a great noir detective story.

It has fairy-tale characters as main and supporting cast, with main character (Bigby) being tailored to your tastes by your decisions. Is he a good cop or a bad cop? It is for you to decide.

It doesn't actually has choices that matter all that much. None of the games have such choices. However, TWAU creates high-quality ILLUSION of choice.

Overall, I recommend it.

Far superior to Walking Dead Season 2. In my opinion probably one of the best story games of 2014 (Barring episode 1 being released in October last year).

My own recommendation would actually be a definite recommendation but not exactly a "rush out the door this instant because it's so awesome." Given that the main character actually is a detective, there could/should have been more investigation and puzzle solving. Also, the QTEs which make up the vast majority of the action in the game get a little stale by the end even if the scenes they are portraying continue to be good.

Seems pretty good so far, but then I'm neither a very big comic book person nor very far into the series so I'm sure there are people better qualified to judge it than myself.

Still from what I've read so far the game did a damned good job of capturing the characters personality and general vibe from the comics, so if you liked those elements from the game then you'd probably like it in the comics as well. I've heard that later in the series Fables kinda nosedives in quality, but having only read in a little bit so far it's been enjoyable.
