This is a topic about a very nice and, I believe, a very underused (probably due to difficulty in programming) feature in several recent games (being Halo, Uncharted 2, Forza Motorsport 3) - a theatre mode. Most every game has a replay feature but theatre modes take that further.

The best example of that is the Theatre mode in Halo 3. It saves all of your recent games, allows you to watch them in every perspective, from every point on the map, and it lets you turn off the HUD.

Emmm... now for discussion value... Alrightey, do you ever use this feature in games and which games you know would benefit from having one?

The only one of those games I have is Halo
I use it when I have a crazy match and want to watch it again
But not very often

I personally love Replay features. They're available in most PC RTS games. Quite fun to use, and in my opinion more games should have them. Call of Duty should definitely have one.

Yeah, Call Of Duty HAS to have one.
And what PC RTS games are you talking about, exactly? Because that alone is a stimulus for me to try them out.

I picked the last one, as I got confused, I originally thought you meant cinematics like replaying scenes in games, because some do, do this.
But yeah Modern Warfare could surely benefit from what you're saying here :p
I think Ace Combat: Fire of Liberation has this feature...

Loads and loads of PC RTS. Dawn of War (All of them) have replays, Warcraft does, I believe. I think most RTS games these days have a Replay function.

I love watching kills slow-mo and all epic in Halo.

Considering the amount of crazy stuff that happens in it I think Bad Co. 2 should have one.

Do they have saved replays and zoom in? 'Cause that would works soooo sweet for machinima.

They can be really cool, but it seems like a lot of racing games these days are missing the replay feature.

EDIT: And Bad Company 2 could have an interesting one for multi-player.

Yes, you go in to the replay and ( I believe ) you get to move around the world as the match plays out as it happened in the replay.

And of course they're saveable.

I know people like it for Multiplayer, for reviewing strategies, re-watching their awesome kills and such.

But where I would really like to see it, is in beautiful games like GOW or Arkham Asylum. Any game where the programmers went out of their way to make the fighting seem more cinematic, I would love to sit back and watch a replay of those hard won battles.

I love it when I have that kind of "how the hell did that guy kill me!?" moment and I can just go back and see.

Star Wars: Empire at War(both) have the feature that while you're playing and given your orders, you can press the spacebar and it will enter a movie mode for you to watch things unfurl
