However, just the fact that you are currently using the Internet while you think something is in your house and not doing more to protect yourself leads me to believe this is a hoax. Especially considering you came to the Escapist for advice, and not some forum devoted to the paranormal.
Most sites about the supernatural are complete bullshit. I was already on the Escapist when I started thinking wtf? And the last thing I'm going to do after hearing a strange sound is go and look what it is. Do you not watch horror films, that's the kind of mentality that gets you eaten.
If there was something in your house, I wouldn't be wasting time on any site, really. And I never advocated trying to find what the source is; let the police/pastor/animal control do that. And then, after you've called them (or before, depending on the severity of the situation), you should get into a defensible area near an escape route. Use your dog as bait if need be. (And horror films are so much more credible than paranormal forums.)

If movies have taught me anything is that you have to react to horror based on your skin color.
If you are of the Caucasian variety you pull out your magnifying glass and Sherlock Holmes hat and investigate; the hand held camera is optional.
If you are of any other skin tone, which you clearly aren't because you would have gotten the fck out of there a long time ago and wouldn't be able to read this.

Yea. I've had just a few "paranormal" events in my life, one of which did, in fact, scare the crap out of me.
Not that I'll post it here, just saying I know what you're feeling.

Though, yes, most times, it's just inside youre head.
Like others have said (which you're probably already done by now, since I'm so late to this thread :p ...), just turn on as many lights as possible.
Then, watch a movie. Something loud, and something that will keep you interested in practically nought else. Should help, for a little while, at least...

I have a sister with some mild OCD. This could be something like that.

The dark gets scary, but what I do is play video games when I get scared. Usually cheers me right up. So does spectacle...

Unless... You aren't in this situation, are you?

I've never had a... paranormal experience, but I have woken up in the guest room bed of my own house, not knowing how I got there. That was scary, kind of.

Don't worry about it. A dog + a TV + some warm liquid (soup or ramen especially helps me) does wonders for people. Something tells me its an animal of some sort. The milk is most likely your fault.

get a couple of knives and be ready to call the police, go check it out, and if there is someone, call them

Seriously though guy if your not trolling actually think for a second.

1. Horror movies are pure fiction what happens in them is not what would happen in life.
2. If it was a burglar they would be gone by now.
3. If it was a serial killer you would be gone by now.
4. If it was some dead or otherworldly being now lets just stop for a second. Why would it break through to our physical realm to move your fucking milk and make spooky noises in a 16 year old's house.

Grow some balls and confront it... its either an animal that can be most likely dealt with or its absolutely nothing and your mind has been making you over anxious of a series of events.

For example: You moved your milk and forgot... your dog saw a rodent and went looking for it ending up in the conservatory... your house is making creaking noises because its a house... something that has been close to falling finally did and made a crashing noise... your seeing shadows in the dark as your eyes are readjusting coming from the light.

wow, someone else who cares about that distinction, good man.
Also, the avatar is awesome as code geass is (in my humble fact, i mean opinion) the single best anime ever.

It's not opinion, it's a fact!

I'm a psychology student so that's why I get a bit peeved about it.

Anyway, it's a lack of sleep or you're being psychosomatic about what you hear. Shout really loudly with a deep voice and if anything moves, get out.

Is this over now or has he just been raped and left in the wilderness? I really want to hear the conclusion to this.
