Poll: These Advertisements

Ok so, been here a while but was forced to take a rather long break while i moved country then house job etc, i knew adds were comming into it but i had no idea how bad it would be, now im just wondering if im the only 1 who is smart enuf to time the adds, so next time it pops up i just mute my sound and switch to a thread or summin in one of my other tabs then come back when its done, i mean does any one else actualy WATCH them? and also are they ALL for that stupid prince of persia film?

I keep getting confused when people talk about adverts before the videos on the Escapist, because I don't get them. Then after about 10 minutes confusion I remember that I'm part of the Publisher Club.
So, to answer your question, no, I don't watch them but only because I don't get them. For video ads onother sites, I just sit through them, they're not that long.

They last for like, 15 seconds at most, and I don't get them for most of the videos. I find them quite bearable. At least they're not advertising mail-order brides or anything like that. Don't really have a problem with them. I'm wondering if there's something wrong with my browser that I don't know about? Because everyone seems to really hate the ads, and I don't even get them that often.

If you really dislike the ads (the things that are probably the biggest source of income for the site) join the publishers club, ad free browsing with other benefits is nice.

But for the love of god don't use an ad blocker, especially if you are viewing this site regularly. It's incredibly rude to deny them of the ad revenue when you get so much great content without having to pay.

But to answer your question, no I don't watch the ads on this site due to pubclub awesomeness but on other sites I do, they sure don't get me to go out and buy stuff but they do get the site ad revenue and it's just 15-30 seconds of my time.

I don't think it was the using of ad-blocker so much, but the blatant promotion of it.

They're not choosing money over their fans. As a fan, shouldn't you be more supportive of the site that offers you all this stuff for free? They don't have to upload these shows for you. The least you can do is sit through a few seconds of advertisements.

They're not choosing money over their fans. As a fan, shouldn't you be more supportive of the site that offers you all this stuff for free? They don't have to upload these shows for you. The least you can do is sit through a few seconds of advertisements.

they got along just fine b4 the advertisements, and i have no problems with ads so long as they dont interupt the show im trying to watch, i dont watch tv because adds annoy me so why would i watch this, and if theyre banning people for using ad blocking addons means they ARE chosing their sponsors over their fans which is not right.

also people have the right to promote pieces of software they find usefull so long as its not malicious, why shouldnt they? the ads arent something i watch anyway it would be useful not to have to alt tab everytime i open an episode though so any1 who can point me in the direction of nething similar for chrome would be appreciated, i have firefox but pref not to use it outside of webdesign things.
