portal is all yah need, Half-life 2+ the expansions are cool, but clunky on the xbox, and team fortress while fun is a waste of time compared to CoD, Halo, and gears.

Every game in the orange box are worth the 20$. Half-life 2 is quite an improvement from half-life. Portal is a one in a lifetime oppurtinity, and TF2 is a great muktipkayer game. So yeah, go for it!
If you do end up just going for Portal, I found it by itself in a bargain bin for $10 U.S. So in that regard, Portal alone is not worth the $20. However, if you want anything else in the box, go for it.

TF2 is great, portal is amazing, dont buy this game for the xbox 360. from what i understand the updates all cost about 10$ on xbox live, while they are free on the pc. as of now there are 3 updates to the game, so thats an aditional 30$ if you want to play like everyone else on the 360.
TF2 is amazing. What other game lets you take the appearence of a member of the other team then run around stabbing them in the back.

Get it free here. The Source engine doesn't really require a decent computer at all. Anyway, I'd buy Orange Box, as all the games on it are, in my opinion, fantastic, but then I'm of the opinion that everything Valve touches turns to gold.

HL2 series and portal are awsome, i had never heard of TF2 until i bought the Orange Box. i was instantly hooked on TF2 when i first started playing it. in shorter terms, the Orange Box is defenatly worth the $20, 5 incredible games plus steam inside one box.

Here are the reasons you should buy the Orange Box
1)Half Life 2, and the episodes are so good, I must flagrantly ignore your outright saying you don't care in order to tell you how good they are.
2) Mods. With Half Life 2, you can find mods to extend your game play indefinitely. The original Half Life is being remade with Source era graphics, in theory the same deal with Opposing Force, plus there's a ton of good games across the board that are good for at least a distraction. Not to mention Valves steller track record for doing updates, and great community stuff for TF2 and Portal. Granted this is if you are playing it on the PC, but the entire experience is better on PC anyways. For every shooter ever made, IMO.
3) Portal. Its worth 40 bucks alone, much less 20. Not playing Portal is akin to being a movie fan and never watching Aliens, being a fantasy buff and never reading Lord of the Rings, or being a RPG nut and never trying D+D. You need this game.
4) Team Fortress 2 is also sheer greatness. It fills the perfect niche of either a game to pick up again when your not sure what to play, and instantly get back into the swing of it, or a game to dedicate huge amounts of time to honing your skills and perfecting. It is great fun either way.
Orange Box will be the greatest 20 dollars you have ever spent.
