Forum activity is slow these days, really slow. I think it's gotten to the point that a lot of these divisions are hurting way more than they are helping. I think it's about time that some of the subforums were folded back into the main.

User reviews is barren. There are so few reviews posted that I don't think it would hurt to put them in OT or GD.

Tech Discussion also seems like a pointless division, and has little enough traffic that it wouldn't hurt to get rid of it.

Advice Forum is pretty much counterproductive as it is. People are looking for advice, so we send them into the room down the hall that hardly anybody goes to. By far the most active threads in it, are ones which started in Off Topic and were later moved.

Game Industry Discussion was basically irrelevant by the time it was implemented. Gamer Gate had already ravaged the site, and these days is barely even a thing. It doesn't even work to contain all the politics of gaming, because you still get a lot of that crap in GD. On top of that it's just not very active.

Biowarriors. What even is this? Nobody. Nobody uses Biowarrriors! An entire subforum to discuss one developer? That's insane! Obviously the forum didn't work for whatever it was trying to accomplish.

Wild West is basically just Forum Games mixed with OT. I like this forum, but it doesn't really have much of a purpose. Honestly, most of what goes on in there would be just fine for the regular forums, if only mods stopped banning people for having fun. It's mainly another division that splits the community.

Maybe if most or all of these forums were axed, we'd have enough thread creation in one place to get some decent discussion going on.

Yeah I mostly just stick around OT and GD. Everything else might as well not-exist. And the BioWare sumbforum is... confusing, to say the least. Why even is it there? It has five threads! The BSN had a mess of subforums dedicated to every topic under the BioWare sun - the people there were never going to squeeze all of that into one subforum and be happy. Hoping to coax them to the site with one measly portion sectioned off for them was never going to work - why keep on with it?

I suppose I wouldnt be against most of it. No one has posted -anything- in my own topic asking about drawing tablets.

As for WW, Ive come to accept it as a trash bin of sorts. The topics there dont need to plague the GD or OT forums. Most of them arent even on their own insane topic. Probably the only way to have a discussion there is to make a topic about posting only pictures of cats.

I personally check most forums, but thats because I have no life.

Blame the people who were commented on the GG so much that the Gaming Industry subforum was made. That did took people away from the Off-Topic but on the other hand.

On the other hand just create more fun topics on here but I think people in general no longer cared for that given to the other activity on the other subforums.

Also say what you want about the adive thread but you WILL get a reply sooner or later. You don't need pages of comments to get a replay! That thread has helped me before in the past!

He got banned for getting in trouble too many times. He wasnt specifically perma-banned for the bleach post. If he had fewer infractions, he would just be temporarily suspended.

Honest to god, didn't even know about the bioware one it's kind of funny, there is literally one user thread in it.

Do we still need the expo ones from 2012 and 2013? Wouldn't posting in them be necro at this point?

I'd say that a few subforums should be absorbed into others. Maybe even merging the Gaming and Off Topic sections. I think that R&P, GID and WW should remain their own forums, though.

I dont know if that post deserved moderation or not, but it is not -THE- reason he was perma-banned. That is to say, he would not have been banned solely for it. I am merely trying to clear things up. Its a "straw that broke the camel's back".

There's certainly a few that can probably just get cut.

As you stated, there doesn't seem to be any real reason the Tech Discussions, Biowarriors, and the Advice board exist. Once upon a time the Advice board was a good idea but it seems kind of unnecessary now. However, with that said, I know the Advice Board is much heavier on the Mod presence so I don't think it's awful to have for people who have some serious questions they are hoping for advice on.

Gaming and Off-Topic obviously should stay. Gaming Discussion can probably come back home now that Gamergate seems like it's either gone away or the people bringing it up everywhere are banned or have given up. I think Religion & Politics should stay if for any other reason that it's a bit more serious discussion and having a unofficial barrier of its own subforum I think helps demonstrate that. Wild West I was super against when it first showed up but I also didn't know it was PubClub only, which at this point now seems kind of redundant to have a Pubclub board and a Wild West board...

User Reviews I'm not so sure on. While I would LOVE for more people to read my reviews (and you totally should because I'm awesome, don't you want to be awesome too by knowing what to think about movies?), it's also kind of nice to have people critique the reviews themselves where if they were placed in Off-Topic, I imagine it would be more having to defend my opinion rather than the critique.

I am not arguing if that last one was or was not warranted. I am just pointing out that he was not solely banned for that one post. Some people seem to think that one bleach post alone is why he was banned.
