Atheism vs Religion solely for the fact that it's so damn widespread. It can erupt anywhere where religion or atheism is mentioned, even briefly. I've seen it happen on the slightest of provocations "I will pray for you" or a similar comment can start it, for example. Heck, YouTube comments, aside from the fact that are being YouTube comments, are also big offenders - I watched a video where a person was shown having a cross and when I scrolled down to the comments, fucking shit, this, like, few seconds of a video managed to spark a flamewar: "lol, look at the sheep carrying that cross" (or similar) "What you believe no God is better?" and so on.

Reading YouTube comments kills brain cells. I'd guess that gun control is another debate the internet is obsessed with, if some of the threads on here are anything to go by. Although, not limited to the internet, of course.

I dunno, they're all pretty tiresome. I haven't seen a lot of console vs. PC threads, mostly lonely posts in which the person introduce themselves as "Well I don't have any of these problems since I play on the PC", which are a bit annoying, but nothing to debate about. I'm a little sick of pro-guns threads, and people comically missing the point about the -isms in gaming, but I'm keeping my distance from those threads as much as I can really.

Other.

Who won World War 2?

The never ending cycle of bullshit. The argument that needn't exist, as all the allies won. Remove one and the entire house of cards comes tumbling down.

Why can't we all just get along?!

They're all pretty good but I have to go with this one.

Atheism vs. Religion

I believe in a god, I stand by that. People will attack me and claim I am an asshole holding our species back. I tell them they are assholes for being hypocrites/morons/pointlessly stupid.

It's a vicious circle that never ends.
I'm right there with you.
Don't believe in God, fine by me, but don't insult and/or judge me as a person when you know nothing about me except for my beliefs.

There's also this.

I hate that even more.
If someone says something like "God bless you" or what you said, "I'll pray for you" that's simply trying to be a good person, I don't know why people get so bent. Without trying to start anything, if someone can explain to me whether it's people just being obtuse or if saying stuff like that to atheists is a serious insult, please do.
And I had an incident like your youtube video thing.
I was looking up Johnny Cash's "God's Gonna Cut You Down," just a song (and a good one, I might add) and I scroll down and what's in the comments section? A freaking religious debate. It's since calmed down but jeez, some people, you know?

0.9 recurring = 1 always annoys me, because for this debate, one side is absolutely 100% objectively correct. It's as if there was a debate about whether or not 1 + 1 = 2. One side is absolutely correct, and all arguments for the other are flawed.

Also, in the MRAs vs feminists one, what are MRAs? Sorry, I'm unfamiliar with that term...
Male Rights Activists.

It is not something I had heard of either before seeing it on these forums. From what I gather it is basically the same idea as feminism, but focusing on the aspects of society where men get the raw end of the deal, such as custody/visitation rights to their children after divorces and such.
Ah, OK :) thank you! That's much clearer.

Because the Nazis are gone so we don't have a common enemy anymore, thus we no longer have the common unifying force that made us get along to begin with. At least that's how I look at it. Maybe if we get an alien invasion.

Anyway, I don't know. I guess religion versus atheism. I simply stay away from that section of the forums now because it is utterly depressing and full of such much hate.

Personally though, I'm getting a little tired of every single time EA is mentioned, it immediately turns into a one-sided shouting contest of how the company is pure evil. Try to point out any evidence that might say otherwise (or even if you just enjoyed an EA game) and you are roasted.

Wait...the brony/anti brony thing is that big of a deal? I love the show, but I've never come across any shouting match or more than the occasional insulting comment. I've never seen down right hatred for it like I have for all the other things listed. Guess I'm just lucky, or not visiting the right websites?

Religion and politics.

People get pretty uppity and in your face about their stance on the former. Most of the time, the atheists are just as bad as the devout Christians.

And somehow, the latter always makes its way on to news message boards. It doesn't matter what's being talked about, someone will always find a way to blame Obama or Harper (the Canadian prime minister when it comes to our news).
