Poll: Thoughts on Bioshock

I just finished Bioshock and I have heard mixed reviews so I thought I should ask my fellow Escapists. What did you think of Bioshock?

It was good, simply put.

I thought it was nice. The plasmids were a new idea that really added to the game, and didn't make it a typical fps. It also had great atmosphere.

Good, but not awesome.
For example, System Shock 2 was a lot better if you were willing to look beyond the blocky graphics.

It was good. Great atmosphere, fun gameplay, and a decent story. Though I have one big complain t with it. It's to fucking easy.

it got 95 on metacritic, if that's mixed reviews i'd love to see what you consider positive reviews

Mixed reviews? I thought everyone liked the game? I quite liked it, i tend to not like story heavy games but this one had a good mix of it with fun.

Some people thought it was average.

Ehmehfeh yeah it was ok I guess. Not brilliant, had a few bugs, but it was enjoyable.

I just finished Bioshock and I have heard mixed reviews so I thought I should ask my fellow Escapists. What did you think of Bioshock?

I found the atmosphere amazing and although I found it easy (played on Hard first time) it wasn't stupidly easy as much as to not enjoy it. I was challenged occasionally. Mainly by the first melee big Daddy.

I don't think i'd play it again though. So many games, so little time..

Really liked it and can't wait for Bioshock 2.

I felt that the design was quite nice and was a very enjoyable play experience all around. Though the end fight could have been better.

I know that it did receive a lot of criticism for the fact that the penalty for dying was nonexistent. But being able to play through a game and not think that in depth about my strategy was a nice change of pace from having to map everything out in my head.

Thought it was good. Good twist at the end, but come on people, did you really think that Atlas was really the good guy? A guy whom you've never met, don't see through out the whole game, and are only talking to him through a radio and you still thought he was a good guy? The "would you kindly" was pretty cool though

The game had a lot going for it, unfortunately it was WAY too easy(death was a minor inconvenience) had RPG "elements" but imo was NOT an RPG, and I beat it in five hours first time playing it, too short.

Also, the "moral decision" thing felt shoehorned in.

Horrible.

Stealing from other, better games to create something that didn't even look that great.
