Just saying /thread is exactly the same as a "this" of "QFT" post, it lacks detail to actually be worth posting.

I also dislike it when users use it in their own posts, as if they weren't egotistical enough about themselves.
just saying this or QFT is alot worse than /thread, atleast /thread shows a more positive responce. its still awful like but stil...

The rule I always stick by is that "You can't /thread your own post."

You need someone else to quote you and /thread for you.

If it's a really epic thread killer that just silences everyone else with its awesomeness it's okay. /thread.

OT:no, it's not.

I think it's fine.

It's basically the poster's way of saying "I believe that no-one will make a better point than this one, do you agree?". Of course, by continuing to post after /thread you are refuting this, so if /thread annoys you, just post something after it and you have cheerfully negated the effet of /thread.

I'm not sure. "This" and "QFT" I would view of as having a similar level of positive response to that of "/thread", as it shows that you're agreeing with what they have to say, instead of stuff like "lol wut?", which is both pointless and shows a negative response through disagreement.

I quite enjoy seeing it, because in the right circumstances it tells you so much about the debate in question. Also, it's one word, easy to skim over or ignore. It's a funny little expression, and getting hepped up about it seems like such a monumental waste of time to me.

It's just another way of saying 'You win' or 'Quoted for truth' or 'I concur', so I don't have any problem with it. Sometimes it's actually pretty funny. It's always better if someone posts more than that, though.
