So Ladies and gentlemen, it's that time again.

The day we all look forward to with despair and joy is drawing ever so near. Soon it's christmas and we will all be broke due to buying expensive clutter to our nearests and dearests. Or at least I am. Now, as this time of celebration is vissiting us like an anoying high school friend we need to follow certein procol and traditions, your school uniform is your suit or dress, your light beer is your ale, and your porn is your tie.

And as with porn you are certein to have some preferances, and my question is as simple as this. Tie, or bowtie? wich is better? personally I just want to point out that bowties are cool. enjoy the discussion, and merry soon-to-be-Christmas.

Edit: Now where is that bloody poll? seems to be a bug of sorts! anyway, don't let it keep you from discussing!

depends on the bowtie, but aside from really goofy-looking bowties, i'd say i prefer them if for no other reason than that you see them only about 10% as often as ties. less common = better :)

The Time Lord on the left looks a dashing sought. The Time Lord on the right looks like he's supposed to park your car or show the way to your concert seat. My money on the tie!

Bowtie is definitely harder to pull off, for a number of reasons, including the whole thing where tying one is almost a completely lost art.

But when it works, it kicks a regular tie's ass.

Gotta go with the tie, only wore a bowtie as a little kid before I knew how to tie one myself.

Why would you wear a bowtie, which accentuates the ears, when you can wear a tie, which accentuates the penis?

Ties are awesome, especially when it's the last thing you see

Also, DiMono, very good point :D

Bowties look ridiculous. You cannot wear them outside of a tuxedo.
Ties. Phallic imagery all the way.

I'm going to say bowtie, just because.

Thinking about it a second later though, ties are better...

Bowties for tuxedos in the evening. Ties for everything else.

Thats the way it should be.

Tie in most situations, particularly if you are gunning for a professional appearance. Half-Windsor knot. Tie-pin if you want to get fancy-shmansy.

Bowtie for a more whimsical look, such as a professorial air, or the 'slightly kooky, but still polished nerd' look.

Or if you want to go for broke:

I will not wear anything around my neck.
What, am I going to make it easier for Them to kill me?

That being said; Bowties are cool.

Tie. And I mean like they both win, not that tie wins. Bowties are more formal, and usually look ridiculous, but if you can pull it off, waay better than ties. For everyday events, like going to work, buying groceries or heading to the beach, ties are the way to go! (Please imagine that last sentence as read by a commercial in the 50's!)

Tux and bowtie, everything else is tie. I personally can't stand either, but if I had to wear one, that would be my rule.
