Ties are just awesome. You can wear a tie in most day to day sinarios without looking like an ass. Bowties only look good in a girls hair.

Well... Bowties are much more suitable for a wedding or a waiter or something like that, while ties are for everything else. Also, bowties are much harder to tie

Ties I bowties are ok for weddings and prom but overall ties man use the double windsor knot the knot for those in the know.

Double Windsor is out, name of the game is sleek and slim. Fitted suit, thin tie, half Windsor.

I've worn both, and I guess it depends on what's going on. For example, I prefer to wear a tie to run of the mill fancy-dress parties. The ones where I wear my kilt or whatever. But there are some instances where I would prefer to wear a bowtie, such as conducting a concert band or something like that.

On the whole, I prefer ties. Bowties can be awesome, but in my opinion, only on a dinner jacket (or 'tuxedo' if you're not British), however, if you wear a dinner jacket too much, it lose its originality on you, and so for that reason, I generally prefer ties.
