Considering my training and taking the test were on Manual, I use the manual. Sure I read automatic is easier but it will require some learning and training (I'm not exactly confident driving a car) to use automatic.

I've heard many automatics switch between gears so fast that manual has lost a good upside. Still, I'm not sure. I know my automatic will sometimes switch gears unnecessarily then I have to throw it in neutral and back into gear to trip it.

I also heard manual is easier than ever to learn now so I really want to try... I just don't want to ruin my car to learn it.

Manuals. I find Automatic's too easy - "Oh all I have to do in accelerate." Manuals - "I have to time the revs to the speeds I'm going at for perfect gear transitions."

I'm in the UK and I drive a semi-automatic after 5 years of a manual.

I don't mind it but would much prefer a manual and will go back to one once this car is on it's last legs. I miss the power of a manual.

My own car is a manual, it is how I learned to drive and its how I learned to drive and I like how it gives me more control over the car.

The hearse and limousines that I drive for work however are automatic, it allows for smoother gear changes which equals an smoother ride for the people in the vehicles.
