You can still learn the piano. Even if you think you are, give it a shot. What's the worst that can happen?
Congratulations on hitting Gonzo. Welcome to the club.

Thanks. I wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for this.

your never too late to start to learn a skill or hobby its just when you are younger its alot easier to master. so you may aswell give it a go if you really want to....

The only difference between having started when you were younger and starting practice now is that you'd be better now because you've already put hours in. It doesn't matter if you start now, or if you started early, in the end you'll have to put the same amount of hours and effort into it.

I'm 22 and I'm picking up guitar just fine.

I'd say go for it, I'm kinda working my way through it slowly, but I can play something that sounds like "Apologize", and I'm also 17...so I think you can do it.

You're not too old to learn. If you can type/play video games then you're more than capable of learning to play piano.

The main reason being at my age(17) my hands have become accustomed to working as one (not independently IE melody and rhythm)
I would say try it, then practice lots and you will be fine.

If you are struggling then I would recommend just practicing with one hand which is rather easy. I personally recommend practicing that on a guitar (I mean if you have a guitar lying around, don't go out a buy one). I have played both to a decent level and can definitively say guitar is easier to learn to get your fingers moving independently. If that fails lay your fingers flat on the table and practice lifting one finger without the others as high as you can. This will help get them moving without the whole hand moving with them.

I voted yes, not because of your age, which btw is really relatively young, but because you seem to already have a hopeless demeanor when you're only 17.

Go and conquer the world or do whatever.

Who are we to say what you should do?

But stay in school damn it. ; )

17's kinda young. I want to play the piano or cello one day. I'm 19 and feel ready to take on the world... one day... soonish.
