For the sake of having an intellectual discussion over morality and choice, what if you were given the power to make the world into a supposed perfect world. Wars are not fought and every nation would experience great prosperity and happiness. The catch is that it will cost you your life. Would you be willing to sacrifice your life if it meant the world was made perfect?

Also, if you were given a second option instead, which is bending everyone's mind to follow what you believe in thus creating a unified world and potentially a perfect world, would you take this option instead of sacrificing yourself?

Third option, do nothing and let the world resume course...

If it equates to a perfect world for everyone, without a single conflict in the future, then yes I'll sacrifice myself.

I'm old enough to hear about and see a lot of programs and books about how THE END IS NEIGH. I am also old enough to know that this message has been shouted by many people from the beginning of human life. I'm not old enough, however, to know if this is the time when those people are right about the end. So sure: I would give my life to ensure that the planet magically becomes a Utopia. I'm tired of hearing about the inevitable Dystopian future...

So for the unified world, am I still alive? Because I would rather have that...

Unified. If there's any downsides to that option I don't see 'em.

I'd sacrifice myself in an instant.

Although, if there was that second opinion, I'd do that instead.

I would have took the first option without a second thought... But then you presented the second one, which is less moral, but sounds like a lot more fun... Hm...

Save the world? What do you think I am, some sort of average person?

I just did it 35 minutes ago.

OT: I'd probably go with option 2. Having humanity united entirely under one purpose, one mind, seems like a pretty good option. That's not to say that I wouldn't go with the other two options. I'd like to think that I would be willing to sacrifice myself to better humanity.

My vision of a perfect world is that in which superpowers and futuristic technology exist, unfortunately i would probably succumb to my own greed by doing this. Soon enough though my own morality would get the best of me and i would be forced to sacrifice my self, in a grand and epic battle versus whatever superevil has risen in that world, but sacrifice my self notheless

Strength through unity, my friends. I'd still let people believe in what they want, but there'd be common laws for the whole world, and only some laws would be regional. All hail the Infinite Empire! XD

Sacrifice myself. I'm not terribly attached to anything anyway.
Might be an equally good reason to not sacrifice yourself. :)

Me, I'm neutral about humanity as a whole and I think they would do well enough without divine intervention making everyone happy bunnies. It just doesn't seem right to give everyone anything they want just like that. Maybe I'd sacrifice myself because I do care about the happiness of some people around me. I'd give it quite a bit of thought, but I'd probably end up just flipping a coin.
