Or we can just stop scrutinizing over it and wait for the game to speak for itself when it comes out.

All of the things going wrong with this game have everything to do with Activision. In an interview with IW's CEO a few weeks ago he said that there would be dedicated servers for the PC version. The price, the dedicated servers, they're all Activisions fault. It has nothing to do with IW.

There have been a lot of threads because they keep telling us more and more bad news.
It's a lot of things & they're piling up.

For a bit of laughs...

I am one of the people that's hating on MW2, and I'll admit most of it seems a little unfounded. Some people have legit arguments, but others seem to be just angry at it for no reason. I'm part of the latter, and even I don't know why I have this overwhelming hatred of CoD and other WW2 games.

I think the hatred of Infinity Ward's decisions towards the game is well deserved. This is a game that has long been anticipated. Then IW started dropping bombs left right and centre. No dedicated servers which will result in high pings, lag, and unfair advantages for the server host. No console to allow tweaking to the players liking. Not community modding tools, meaning no new maps, weapons, or anything of that nature. You'll only get what IW decides to give you, which most likely will not be much, and it'll DLC, and you'll probably be paying for it thanks to Activision. No ability to kick hackers and cheaters. Only a max of eighteen players per map, which is way to small for an online FPS. No lean. I mean what the hell, leaning is such a basic concept in FPS. Then there's the inflated pricing.

Every COD before MW2 had these features. It's like getting a demo for sixty dollars. I think it's quite a slap in the face to all dedicated fans who have been playing the game since the first COD.

The sad thing is that it's going to have a great story, as all COD games have had. Too bad it's not going to be worth the sixty dollars for one five to ten hour playthrough, seeing that MP is gimped like it is.

No dedicated servers? Check, jaw loosening up.
No console? Check, jaw dropping wide open.
9v9 max players on any map? Check, blood pressure rising.
No modding what-so-ever? Check, eyes beginning to red.
No ability to kick players during the game, at all? Check, blood vessels bursting.
No ability to choose the hosting player? Check, hands involuntarily clenching.
The difference between the console version and the PC version: Text chat, ability to use mouse and ability to tweak graphics (All three of which have been considered the bare minimum for close to 15 years...)? Check. GYAAARGH!

Hulk Smash!

So yes, it is justified. Adding these features would not have been that large of a job, even just dedicated servers would have made the whole things more friendly to us PC gamers. But no.

This is like advertising an RTS by saying you can control units, or that the latest FPS will have guns. At first it makes us laugh our arses off when we think 'good joke man, good joke', then jaws drop as we understand that 'hey, these guys are serious' and then the rage begins to mount as we realize that this is supposed to be a finished and polished sequel to a good FPS we liked and that they actually want us to pay for this half-finished crap.

Heck no.
Well said, sir. Well said.

I imagine the features listing on the box of the PC version would be something along the lines of:

-Now with mouse and keyboard support!
-Sequal to the 2007 PC Game of the Year, now with more removed features!
-Massive 9v9 Multiplayer games!
-In game text chat!
-All new graphics customization feature! (note the lack of plural)
-Exclusive to North America, an extra $10 charge at the checkout, free of charge!
-Exclusive to Europe, a free copy of "The Idiot's Guid To Getting Swindled By Video Game Companies", the new bestseller from the executives of Infinity Ward and Activision!

Man, I can't wait for Nov 10! Oh wait, I'm in Canada, so it'll be Nov 11! Awesome, I can get my military shooter the same day that I'm suppose honour our war veterans! :D

(this was dripping with sarcasm, for all those who failed to notice)

It's almost justified, but come on. Do we really need 9 threads complaining about 2 or 3 different wrong-doings on IW's part?

Every single bit of info and video I have seen of this game has been incredible, so just stay calm and give it a chance before you continue with the bashing.

Your not at all angry due to the fact IW have gotten rid of party chat?

I'm sure the game itself will be awesome, but the way they're screwing over PC gamers they deserve every bit of hate they get and then some.

have you not noticed how every single thread is met with spiteful comments? isn't it obvious how most people who comment either do so to pour venom on either the author or the subject?

Considering they didn't even tell Activision they had a sequel to CoD4 that was being made, and turned down a ridiculously large budget (which would have guaranteed dedicated servers - they can't blame lack of time or money) - no to mention the ridiculous banning of party chat on the 360 version...they are moving backwards in terms of online gaming - it is clearly IW's fault.

Quite frankly: I am on the fence about that.

I can understand that it would be nice to talk to friends in a different game while playing, quite like in almost every other game out there. But for guys like me: I'm usually busy talking with my teammates instead of my friends.

Still, it's a bit of a low blow that the feature is being excluded, if not for anything more than the sheer availability of it. My heart goes out to those who utilize it.

I understand some bitterness, but on the other hand I think it's a bit overwrought. People feel entitled to things they perhaps shouldn't be.
