i watched it for MAR which they removed...:( and bobobo which was also removed..zatchbell was pretty good but they took that to...all that was left was the dumb tennis anime. i didnt get the story of tom someone plz tell me?
Tom replaced Moltar as the host of Toonami on a spaceship, as you probably know. Tom died in a computer virus, thing, and was replaced by Tom 2. Tom 2 hosted for a while, then got buff one day. A few years later, he turned into this weird, thing... unexplainable. A year or so later, Toonami was canceled.

I miss the way it was when it was at its best, not the way it was towards the end of its "life." I wasn't giving a fuck about Ben 10, Totally Spies, Code Lyoko, or any of that drivel.

Back when we got great shows like Dragon Ball Z, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo!/Universe, Gundam Wing, G Gundam, ReBoot, Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, and so forth? Fuck yeah, I miss it.

Actually Tom 2 didn't get the boot until they made the weird robo Tom, the last non-robo tom was merely Tom 2 in a new suit, something they told people in one of the commercials.

Not really. I'd outgrown most of what was shown during that block before they fscked it up. I'd rather they kept the good shows and put them on Adult Swim unedited. I was digging uncensored DBZ until they stopped showing it, and Yu Yu Hakusho was at its best before they starting airing it during kiddy hour.

I do feel Cartoon Network has declined over the years. I really miss the Cartoon Cartoons. Johnny Bravo, classic Dexter's Lab... All that stuff. Somehow I think I'd still enjoy watching that stuff as an adult if they'd kept it around. The last CN original I remember liking is Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

HERE is why tom changed into the stupid looking one.The dark colors ansd this Black visor on the old tom scared small childeren(no joke)so they changed him into the weird looking one who angered long time veiwers thus causing them to stop watching the ratings dropped so did the time slot from 4 hours to 2.but the shows they kept were mostly naruto and one piece.they kept naruto shippuden from coming on because it was to violent and the bad naruto episodes started comeing thus people stopped watching causing the ratings to drop thus Toonami was canceled.once again the Overprotective mothers of the world united and took down another good show/Cartoon block.just like Invader Zim

I'm voting yes, mainly because I miss shows like 2 Stupid Dogs, and Batman: Beyond (Batman of the Future for non-North American viewers, I guess.)

Bloody gits. Even my grandmother liked Zim.

I absolutely do. I can still trace my start of watching anime to randomly flipping the channel to Cartoon Network one day, halfway through a significant episode of Sailor Moon. I loved that show, and wondered what else was being offered. And found Tenchi Muyo, which became my second obsession, not to mention branching out into renting stuff from the video store...

Hell, Toonami was pretty much the only television I watched throughout high school. Even after I lost interest in DBZ, and after Sailor Moon and Tenchi Muyo went off, there was still Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, and Outlaw Star. Then I coincidentally stayed up one night and found Cowboy Bebop...

So yeah. Hell, I still have VHS recordings of episodes back when Moltar was still the host. I even loved their presentation openings, and those little videos they eventually started showing.

I know other people liked the other main one (the youth inspiration one), and I liked it too. But this was my favorite.

You know what I miss?

Cartoon Network actually having CARTOONS on the channel instead of slowly filling up with live action movies and assorted crap.
It's bad. It's kinda like how MTV has NOTHING to do with music, except playing a 30 seconds of a current pop song during the credits of a show.

Yeas, I do miss Toonami very much. I'll admit, I did't watch too much of it, mainly because I didn't have cable and had to watch at my grandma's house, but I still have memories of it. I remember when I first discovered it and I thought to myself and thinking "This is the greatet thing... ever."

I also remember that it had great music in its commercials.

Holy shit. I was in third grade when i was watching those exact intermissions.

Although i had no idea that Toonami itself was cancelled two years ago, i grew out of it in 2001-2002. So i would miss it, but only when i started watching it. Judging by this thread i assume that it went downhill later on.

Oh, while we are on the subject, Reboot was awesome. Now no one gives a shit if a series is made with 3D animation (Which is completely understandable)!

Imiss the old toonami the one with Outlaw star and Gundam not the one that played 4 episodes of Naruto and One Piece a night... and I also miss when Cartoon Network would play good shows like Ed, Edd n' Eddy, or Johnny Bravo, I've tried to watch Chowder and Flapjack but the shows are just gross, and disturbing I don't know how anyone can find it entertaining...

yes alot of people liked invader zim but Soccer moms control the world.and because Invader Zim came n at the time when school and most soccer, football, and baseball practices ended thats what the kids got to watch.but the Soccer moms couldn't stand the immaturity of the show and got it cancelled.same goes for toonami.thats why it went from everyday at afternoon-ish to saturday nights.
