It's not the fact that we think we are better than anyone. It's the fact that you guys seem to think that we believe ourselves better than everyone. I swear to you, all the "we are better than every other country" things you see are generally coming from mockeries of ourselves derived from pop culture.

I agree so very, very much. I picked "other" due to the lack of that option. Of course, if I had to pick just one, I'd go with the anti-America ones (having just come from the most recent of these abominations). I mean, really, people. It's starting to annoy.

I'm somewhat sick of all the homosexuality threads. I've been guilty of posting in them, but really every one devolves into three things: an excuse for the ignorant to proudly parade their prejudice, an excuse for straight people to show off how cool they are with it and go all "Joss Whedon: Minority Warrior" on us, and/or an excuse for sexual minorites to complain when someone inevitably says something offensive. They hardly ever contain any real discussion of the issue beyond the 2nd page, and yet they always go for 9 pages. I guess I really should practice the don't write, don't read policy, but I always get twitchy when SOMEONE IS WRONG ON THE INTERNET!

And an excuse for Tdc2182 to giggle like a 7 year old through those 9 pages because he has a strangely childish sense of humor

also there was a bunch of sexuality threads a while back like about gays and bi's and straights and what not. i was getting pretty sick of them but they went away so i'm happy again. not that i have a problem with those people but i mean it doesn't really matter to me which gender you like.

But I went and chose avatar threads, because I feel like those are the dumbest of them all. Seriously, there was a thread with a title like "would you date/marry your avatar?" recently and it was in the Hot Threads box for a pretty long while. Are you kidding me? Now I'm not one of the users who was here during the glory days, but I came in early enough to know that that kind of thread shouldn't be on the Escapist.

Well since everyone and their dog have decided to score political points with conservatives by taking shots at video games, they do comprise a large part of gaming news. I don't think posting about them on here really qualifies as publicity since they are shown as more an "lol look how STUPID this person is!"

But I vomit when people write really, really bad/idiotic ones. It's turned the "User Reviews" section of the Escapist into a barren wasteland.
