Unless they come a better way for the buttons/ keyboard on the touchscreen (hate the autocorrect and trying to move the editing on a past words) the buttons all the way!
Same, touchscreens work for like 90% of the stuff I do on my phone, but is insanely infuriating for the 10% of stuff that it sucks for, like selecting individual characters in a text post, or entering a password without it showing up

I think the best combo for phones would be touch screen but with physical up down left and right buttons that wouldn't take up that much space but would give it a lot more capabilites

I like them as an option when mouses aren't available, but I don't like them as the primary control method.

Niche product, at best, useable in certain circumstances and completely pointless in others. For instance, Microsoft did not need to shove it into everything. There's certain places where it's fine and others where it's not. My thoughts:

Tablet - Fine
E-Book - Okay
Phones - So-So
Computers - Nope
Card-Readers - Ehhh...
Non-Mobile Gaming - Fuck Off

For most games I consider them to be a poor choice for an interface. Particularly, action games.

They have a slight upper-hand over controllers in games where you must select a particular space on a screen, like in RTSs, but the inaccuracy of them still makes them vastly inferior to motion control pointers and of course mouses.

In games that require finesse or entering commands with accurate timing, the use of touch controls would be a very frustrating experience. I know that firsthand, thanks to my attempts to play Infinity Blade on the iPad years ago. I could play it, but only because the game was fairly easy. Often I lost because I tried to enter a command and failed to do so.

The only place where I might choose it over all other possible control options in in drawing, provided I had a tool other than my finger for it.
