Not necessarely so. Lack of transparency allows people who are willing to do bad things to begin with hide the fact that they done those things and thus not be accountable for them. It does not turn good people into bad people, it allows bad people prosper, often at an expense of good people.
Yes, and I never denied the existence of bad people. I just stated that if you trust those in a specific situation to behave, then there's no concern regarding transparency.
And i never said you did. However you did try to downplay their existence and assumed people just blindly trust their government, etc. which in real life is clearly not the case. and for good reason.
Lets look at something that lacks transparency that most of us have used without question - gas pumps. They can be rigged to scam you, its happened before. We generally can't see the quantity gasoline being pumped itself, its usually just a machine putting in "x" amount of gasoline.
For one, your car does measure how much gas you have and some do it relatively precise, so unless the rigging is to make you loose on 0.1 liters or something it will be noticed.
secondly, there are people whos job is to make sure that the gasp pumps follow standards, they come on fill the car and test it. how much those people are tramsparent is another question.
