I promised Pararaptor (I think. Hell I'm going to do it soon!) to get the Demo and I vow to play it!

these responses remind me of Two Girls One Cup responses.

How is it scary? I haven't played it, but I'm curious.. Most games use Jump Scares but that couldn't evoke these responses.. creepy sounds? good use of atmosphere? Why is it scary?
I heard that there's this monster that follows you around and you can't do anything about it.

I hate to say it, the game bored me to death. The only fun I had was the fun I created by being so bored. I guess I just don't find psychological horrors scary at all the same way it reminded me of a Lovecraft story, which I also found boring.

I got so bored I tried picking up a crate and whacking the weird looking dude so see if I could kill it. I could not :)

Pre-ordered it. Loved it. One of the best games on the year. One of my all-time top ten.

And yes, it's scary stuff. Bricks were shat in short order.

Let me put it this way: if I were playing any other game and found a door that was locked and barred with the words, "For the love of God, do not open," written on it, I would open it, because hey, I want to experience all of the game's content. Plus, y'know, curiosity. But if that game were Amnesia, I would stay the hell away from that door.

Anyway, for anyone who has doubts, I present the following video evidence. Seriously, this video includes two guys in their late teens/early twenties being reduced to tears on account of that game.

Don't worry, it's spoiler-free.

It's a very scary game, but you're kind of late for the bus on this one OP. It came out at the start of September.

Only game that ever managed to scare me was The Suffering. I don't know why, but something about it just creeped me the hell out.

It seems that I had an lesser reaction. I was unnerved when mister shambles said "helloo!" behaind me when I was intently observing a crate. I was not scared but unnerved, I recommend it both as a constipation aid, horror game and out of sheer national pride.

CALLING ALL SWEDES GO AND BUY IT FOR KING AND COUNTRY!!

Ah, I actually had a choice an hour or so ago.
I could buy Amnesia, or Oblivion, on Steam.
I bought the latter, because I love it.
I'm planning on buying Amnesia later though. Maybe if the price drops a tad more as well :3
But damn, it looks like a good game. However, I have not personally confirmed that, unlike with Oblivion, which is why it won this time >.>

Have you tried the demo? Gives you a good idea of what the full game will entail, and then some.

And take this as you will, but for $20, you're getting a well-written 6-8 hour campaign, as well as mod tools. That's a sizable wealth of content, and from an indie studio on the edge of bankruptcy, at that. :p

Dead Space made me shit bricks (Fell out of my chair and cut the side of my head on my keyboard desk).
This game produced nightmares for weeks and made me viciously guard my stash of lamp oil.

Scared the hell out of me. But then agian, its my kinda horror. Scary enemies that dont rely on blood and gets. its atmospheric horror, the best kind. like a stephen king novel.
