Biggie had better flow - Tupac had a better voice. I'd go with Tupac overall. He was a damn good actor and inspired a whole generation. Tupac and Biggie are 1 and 2 though - so it doesn't really matter. They are the two best. I love this song, has so much soul:

Yes, that's 2-Pac with the keyboard strapped to him. 2-Pac got his start in the music career as this group's roadie and backup dancer.
No it isn't. Tupac comes in much later in the song, dressed in African tribal gear. That guy rapping with the keyboard sounds nothing like Tupac - no wonder you prefer Biggie - you can't even identify the other one :p! The fella with the keyboard is a member of Digital Underground.

I had something entirely tasteless to say but after reading some of the responses I won't be saying it. Tupac gets my vote for what seems to be a better message.

Biggie manipulated words for an amazing flow, he had the best technique ever.
Tupac had some of the the most poetic hip hop lyrics ever.

I personally prefer biggie but thats cos Tupac pisses me off

Just proves my point about how generic and soundalike 2Pac is.

Eh, not really. Tupac has an amazingly rich voice. You'd have a point if other people struggled with telling him apart, but they don't. It just seems to reflect badly on your ear. I jest.

Oh, I agree with you - his voice is fantastic. You can tell that he's had performance training. It's what he does with that voice that is generic and soundalike.

I'm not a fan of Biggie. I'm sure he's a great rapper, but all of his songs put me to sleep. I liked some of Tupac's stuff, but also not as much as other rappers.

However, this is just great:

I played Dear Momma to my mom, and she actually enjoyed the song, praised his voice, meaning.

I chose Tupac: it's often about the story, and the meaning/message that can be told in rap.

To be honest, I really can't see where you are coming from. I haven't heard a hip hop artist with such diverse emotion in his voice. He can sound incredibly venomous and rich, yet in next verse he can sound incredibly compassionate and warm. I never saw Biggie, despite his superior flow, achieve that.

Was the guy a bit of a dickhead? Yeah he was - but I do believe he had tremendous natural intelligence and his short career as an actor revealed how much of a natural performer he was. He had a real light behind his eyes. I am perhaps slightly biased, during the war I went through his music seemed to be the only thing that stopped people from being violent.

But as I said before, there isn't any real need to compare the two. They are the two best and American hip hop was never the same after they were killed.
