DDO for me. I tried LotRO and liked it, but it doesn't compare to the action of DDO combat. I only wish there was more of DDO.

I'm going to have to say LotRO, closed beta dragged me in. It's the game that got me into MMOs. Also, being a hobbit is fun! Though not when you're swimming and everyone else is walking through the water, ahah. I also haven't played to other two, though DDO seems interesting. :)

First off, it's Kenders FTW. But since we don't have them, I have to go with DDO. The whole combat style, is vastly superior to other MMOs. And the character customization beats any other out there at the moment.

But if they brought in a DDO that was Dragonlance, I would so be there

DDO. I have yet to actually play it, but from reviews and friends and whatnot, I can assume that it's quite good. And everything that's D&D themed seems to be excessively good, excluding D&D 4.0, which was just below excessively good.

Who the heck Is Lord of the Rings? How did they get so many votes?

Kidding, of course.......

I tried a trial of lotro about a year ago, but didn't sub. Since then, I got WoW for My daughter and have leveled up a few toons to about 40. Now I'm thinking I should give LOTRO another try because WoW got better at higher levels, and I think I didn't give LotrO enough of a chance.

Oh, I voted for DDO in the poll.........

I have to vote Lotro as it is the main one I play. I am looking to try DDO very soon as I know quite a few who play. But sadly I just haven't the time currently.

I've played both DDO and LOTRO, but with money as tight as it is, I have to vote for LOTRO, which enchanted me enough to become a lifer. Now, if DDO offered a lifer program, I'd be all over it, but as it stands, LOTRO was worth more to me to keep active. Not a day goes by that I've played where I don't go "Wow, that's amazing." Been playing LOTRO since beta, and I beta'd DDO but only played for a few months afterwards.

Ack. What's interesting to me is that 3 weeks ago (a short while after I subbed to LOTRO), I would have voted for DDO hands-down.

I don't quite know which to vote for at the moment. I've lost a lot of interest I used to have in DDO in the past month (i.e. I've logged in maybe twice) and instead have started my first month of LOTRO. Relatively, DDO is more fun for me when doing something new or challenging, but that's incredibly rare. At the moment, the sheer amount of things to do in LOTRO combined with the "newness" factor has made the game very fun for me.

In terms of overall design, I would say that LOTRO probably wins due to sheer size and its amount of quest chains, which I enjoy. In addition, its "fluff" such as searchable auction houses, personal homes, crafting design, armor's influence on appearance, and area design have made the game seem even more expansive. I have yet to encounter the feeling that there's nothing to do in that game, unlike DDO.

However, I find the combat system in DDO to be more interesting, though arguably less complex than that of LOTRO. I personally have never played Asheron's Call. Sadly, that combat system and the handcrafted instance dungeons are the only real things DDO has going for it right now.

For me, at present, I may have to vote for LOTRO. However, when Mod 9 rolls around I'm going to definitely be playing DDO most often, though I doubt I'll end up cancelling my LOTRO subscription (Just as I haven't cancelled my DDO sub when playing LOTRO).

I say this as a DDO player.

Turbine sucks so bad I can't even vote for them even when the only competition they have is themselves. Not only is the lag still around, in some ways it is worse. I didn't think the third rate devs we seem to have could make it worse, but somehow they have figured out a way to do it.

Who even wants Mod 9 anymore? Why bother when the game is unplayable.
