Loads of game have offered first or third person. Off the top of my head I'm pretty sure UT3 does. And plenty of games offer you d-pad control if you want to use it, just that not a lot still has a simple enough control system with the exception of beat-em-ups and football games and some driving games.Plauged1 said:Like choosing whether you want to play turn based or tactical based. Fps or 3rd person. D-pad or analog sticks. I am still waiting for a game that gives me those options.
Meanwhile, back on topic turn-based allows a level of complexity which wouldn't be playable in real-time - which is why the campaign map on the Total War series is now a behemoth of Civ-esque complexity. By contrast, given an intuitive control system and some good pressuring AI you can get an RTS experience like Company of Heroes and you realise that there is a god.
