Poll: Turn Based Strategy or real time

okay I'm new to these forums,and I couldn't find a thread like this. So I'm wondering what you think about this.

I personally prefer Turn-Based Grid strategy (Disgaea, FF Tactics, Advance Wars), but I do like RTS games as well.

I think both are nice, but I would like an RTS with the ability to pause and issue (multiple) orders (which kind of makes it not-realtime, but also not turn-based).

I don't like the fact that my personal reaction times influence a game I feel should be purely strategic, but on the other hand, turn-based can get a little boring, since a lot of the time I'm not playing but just watching what the opponent did.

I like RTS but I know I'm not skilled enough at micro to play with the majority of people. And turn based can be fun, but it can get very boring very easily if it's done wrong.

I personally prefer real time, e.g. battles in RTW - but I like Turn Based (e.g. campaign) in RTW as well.

I prefer turn-based because I love civ games.

But the combination that is in the Total War games is great.

Real time probably. I haven't played any turn based games I like. I do like when there are both turn based and real time elements like the lort's war of the ring mode.

I do love me some company of heroes and supcom though.

Thank you for welcoming me. I should have mentioned that I like Turn based to but occasionally like a real time game. With my favorite real time game for some odd reason is Stronghold Crusader. I badly need to play the multiplayer in that.

I agree. For battles real time is a must. For managing and planning turn based can offer some advantages in large scale games like Total War. In games with smaller scale conflicts this can be handled better in real time (Warcraft, AoE).
